Tranquil Tulips for Fancy Friday!

Welcome to another Fancy Friday hop!  If you arrived from the lovely Cindy Schuster, thanks for continuing on to me.  Today we have a gorgeous color combo and we hope you are inspired to play along with us!

I pulled a set out of my collection that I haven't even inked up yet - Tranquil Tulips.  I'm thinking I might have to use this one more often.  I was inspired by some of the colors from the Color Me Happy Kit with the gold/navy/pool party.

My favorite part of this card though is the Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon that I colored with a Light Pool Party Blends.

The sentiment tucked in the corner is from Beautiful You :)

Next up is the lovely Cathy Caines!

Happy Friday!

Hello Lovely - Watercolor Challenge for Concord & 9th

Hello lovely!
Today I'm playing along with a brand new (to me) challenge called Where Creativity Meets C9.  95% of the time, I am loyal to SU!, but I also have a small amount of contraband from another favorite stamp company - Concord & 9th.

I wanted to order a set from them that has cacti - perfect for Texas!  I am selling some cards locally here so I kind of neeeeeded that set.  While I was ordering though, I noticed this set here call Hello Lovely.

The Stampin' Up! colors that I used for the flowers were Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach, Lemon Lime Twist, Wild Wasabi and Island Indigo.  I loosely colored at first with an Aqua Painter and then went back with a heavier saturation on top.

I love this card - now who do I love enough to send it to? =P

Thanks for stopping by!

A Journey with You - GDP126

It's true.  The journeys in this life are much better with my husband alongside.  I decided to take the Cozy Cottage Hostess Set and make a special card for my husband.

We're on a new journey this week.  We received a diagnosis for our youngest son that has forever changed our daily lives, but we are truly blessed that it's nothing worse.  Our hearts are hurting - life isn't always fair, but he'll be okay.  We firmly believe that The Lord has a plan for us, and fully trust Him and His ways.

That being said... I wanted to make my husband a card to let him know how much I love him and how grateful I am that he's the one to care for our son.  All that mushy stuff...

I decided to play along with the Global Design Project sketch this week.  I like the sketch enough that I might be playing twice.  This time I put a little twist on the sketch.  I think it's close enough! :)

Instead of an oval, I decided to frame this cute little cottage on a larger rectangle.  I used Shimmery White Cardstock and an Aqua Painter for the watercoloring.  The sentiment was made by mixing two of the sentiments from the stamp set.

For the corners, I wanted to add some stamped images like the "hearts" on the sketch.  I used the Eclectic Expressions stamp set that you can earn FREE with a $50 purchase now through the end of March.

Thank you so much for stopping by... I know it's been awhile.  I promise, once we are in a routine, I'll be back to blogging (and stamping) more often!

Blessings,

Holly

An Eclectic Valentine

I usually only make a Valentine's Day card for my husband, but I decided to join a Valentine's Day card exchange with some ladies in a group I'm in and was so excited with the way this turned out.

I don't have any "current" Valentine's sets, so I had to be a little creative.  I used the heart from Wood Words and embossed them in white on some Shimmery White Cardstock.  I then took the Brilliant Red Brusho  and sprinkled a little on the paper.  Using a Stampin' Spritzer and an Aqua Painter to move the color around.

The custom sentiment is made with the Lift Me Up stamp set and the "love" from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

Using some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, I cut the background piece and heart using the Eclectic Layers Thinlits
Do you know how amazing the Stampin' Blends are?? I used the light markers of Calypso Coral, Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry for the heart - the skinny tip worked best!

But my favorite part - the ribbon!!  This ribbon was colored using the same Blends markers and the Smoky Slate 1/2" Gingham Ribbon.  My mother showed me some ribbon she colored using the blends and I had to try it!

A few Glitter Enamel Dots and the card is complete! :)

I hope this inspires you to make a lovely card for a friend and send it this weekend!

Blessings,
Holly

Blossoming Basket for GDP124

I'm sure you have noticed that I have been gone for 2 weeks.  Unfortunately all 4 of our children had the flu over the last 10 days and not much stamping happened.  I thought I'd come back blogging with something new!  This Blossoming Basket stamp and new Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder is a bundle you can earn free (starting Feb 16th) with an order of $100.

For the main image, I embossed the basket in White Stampin' Emboss Powder on watercolor paper and colored the image with an Aqua Painter.

And check out this embossing folder - it's perfect for this stamp set!  The good news is that the embossing folder will carry over to the new annual catalog!  You have until March 31st to earn it months early.

I was inspired for these cards by this beautiful card made by my friend Louise at Global Design Project.

I think this bundle is going to be very popular! :)

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope now that our kids are better that I will be blogging more!

Blessings,
Holly
