A Big Thanks Hand Delivered!

Yesterday my son's former Kindergarten teacher was looking for anyone that wanted to "sponsor" a child in her class.  Every year she sends home the Scholastic Book Club fliers and many children never order a single book.  We love to read in our home and I think it is so important for children - especially at a young age - to develop a love of reading.

I decided to sponsor a child (who will get nine $1 books through the school year) and I wanted to make a special card to send to Mrs M. in Minnesota.  My obvious choice was Hand Delivered - the hostess set from the Annual Catalog.  I love the stack of books - so great for a teacher or graduate. 

The little apple is glossed with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Love the look it gives.

I colored all of the books with my Stampin' Blends and coordinated the skirt with the background Garden Impressions DSP.  The thank you is not from the hostess set.  I thought the "big time" and "big stack of books" went together so perfectly.  This sentiment is from Animal Outing.

Rooted In Nature Blog Hop with the Crafty Carrot Collective

I am so excited to share today's post! A few month's back I was asked to join The Crafty Carrot Collective as a guest designer for the month of September and I could not pass this up!

To be honest, I have not taken this set out much to play with, but I knew I wanted to use this sheet of designer series paper.  It's my favorite design from the pack (though they are all gorgeous).

I added a layer of Vellum Cardstock for a soft detail and adhered it with some adhesive behind the Stitched Shapes circle and added a little thread in the corners.  I also took some Multipurpose Liquid Glue and an Aqua Painter and added some splatter in the background.  I then added some Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set it.  This adds a really fun detail to any card.

The sentiment was embossed twice (the "of you" was fussy cut to fit on the tree) and the full sentiment was cut out using the large tree framelit. 

I added some copper Metallic Thread and copper Leaves Trinkets to match.

A Birthday Note 3 Ways

Hello there! I hope you are having a wonderful week! I have been on the road the last few days visiting the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Kentucky.  These were incredible!  If you ever get the chance to go to either of these places, take the opportunity.  They were both amazing places to visit.  Now I'm visiting family and can hardly wait to "play" in my mom's stamp room.  We are complete opposites sometimes, so we have lots of stamp sets to swap and try out.

Today I wanted to share with you 3 different cards - primarily with the same layout - but with looks that you can make depending on your supplies.  Each card is made with the Garden Impressions DSP Stack and the PS You're the Best stamp set.

This first card  - the "simple" one - uses a very basic layout and layering.  This card would be something very quick and easy to make and the cost is very minimal.

This next one is stepped up a little with some dimensionals and the Softly Falling TIEF.  You would require a Big Shot for this look.

Lastly, the "go all out" approach uses dimensionals, some Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins, some Calypso Coral Ribbon and some fussy cut flowers.  This isn't necessarily for someone more "advanced" in stamping - I believe anyone can make it!
