Blends & Birds - Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Hop

Hello and welcome to another blog hop from the Artisan Design Team!  I hope you've enjoyed following the team this year.  It's been an honor to create alongside 19 other gals from the globe representing Stampin' Up!  I can hardly believe this amazing experience is almost over!  And can it really be December tomorrow??

Maybe this little birdie can help cheer me up!  I absolutely love using the new Stampin' Blends from Stampin' Up!.  Have you had a chance to try them yet?  They are very easy to use and the ability to purchase a single marker (in select colors) makes this an affordable option for coloring.

For this card, I used the Color Me Happy stamp set and the Color Me Happy Project Kit.  You can bundle these two items and save!

The birdie was colored with both the Daffodil Delight Dark & Light Stampin' Blend Markers.  The beak and feet were colored with the Pumpkin Pie Dark & Light Stampin' Blend Markers.  The background papers are part of the card kit.

I also used the sequins from the card kit as well.  You can even use the itty bitty circles that are the insides of the sequins.  Adhere with the Fine Tip Glue Pen for best results.
Finally, I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels that I colored with the Night of Navy Dark Stampin' Blends Marker.  Color the pearls or rhinestones on the packaging it comes with to make sure you cover the entire jewel.  This dries very quickly too!

I hope you like my card.  A sweet little hello to send to a friend!  Make sure to travel around the globe and check out all of the creations from the Artisan team!  Next up is my friend Jennifer from Jersey!

Blessings!

Hello Fancy Friday!

Happy Friday!  What an exciting post for me as I have been asked to joined the incredibly talented team of stampers that makes up Fancy Friday - a group of past and current Artisans!  I'm so honored to be among this group.

(I secretly hoped I would be asked to join them and now it's real!)

Here's our sketch for today's hop made by the lovely Jen Timko.

Cathy Caines has been rocking this Christmas Sweaters stamp set over the last few weeks and I finally gave in and bought it!  I love the look of this Santa sweater and decided to try something fun with it.

If you look closely, you can see that I used the Embossing Paste on his beard.  I used the pointed spatula tool to lightly smear it on and used the pointed tip to keep the paste inside the lines.

Super cute, huh?

For the side border I simply used Paper Snips to create the fringed edge.

I carried the DSP, twine and sweaters onto the inside too to bring it all together.  The sentiment on the inside is from the Watercolor Christmas stamp set.

I hope you like it!  Be sure to head on next to the super talented and fellow Texan, Erica Cerwin!

Merry Little Labels Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hello there and welcome to another hop from the Artisan Team!  I can hardly believe my time on the Artisan Design Team is almost over... The new team has been announced and I only have a few more hops left!  I've had such a blast with the ladies on the team and I will miss them dearly - but I am so incredibly excited for the new group of ladies.  I have been a fan of many of them for years now and I'm glad they are getting this wonderful opportunity.  So before we get started, please remember to use the translate tool if you need to so that you don't miss any detail!

Today we are featuring the Merry Little Labels stamp set and coordinating Everyday Label Punch.  We are also featuring the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I decided to make a card and a bag with a masculine feel and not necessarily a Christmas theme.  I really love the sheet of DSP with the trees and thought both designs of DSP worked well together for the "outdoorsman guy".  The black paired with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive is a great combo!

I made the bag using the Gift Bag Punch Board.  I punched two small holes at the top for the Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.  The front of the bag is decorated with the "No Peeking" stamp embossed in white, punched out with the coordinating Everyday Label Punch and adhered to the Starburst Punch.  I added some scraps of the 7/8" Striped Ribbon and Black Metallic Thread.

The paper filler is made with skinny strips of Old Olive paper from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack.  (This is easy to make - cut skinny strips and crumple up the paper!  So simple!)

The card was made using many of the same product to help tie everything together.

Now since I really liked how this turned out, I wanted to make another bag and card.  This time I wanted to make something using a completely different look with colors and paper, but a similar layout.

For this bag, I used the same "No Peeking" tag and colored the sentiment with my Stampin' Write Markers.  For the tag on the card, I used the markers to color just the "for you" part of the "Just for You" stamp.  A great use of the markers!

The bag was made very similar with the Starburst Punch used with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon, Silver Metallic Thread and the birthday bag was made with the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper.

I used the same sheet of DSP for the larger layer on my card and carried over again some of the same embellishments.

My favorite detail is the "balloon" that I stamped the "For You" sentiment on and then punched out using the Balloon Bouquet Punch.  I really like the way it turned out.

As you can see, the Merry Little Labels set can be used for other occasions - not just Christmas :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Next up is my dear friend Jennifer Sootkoos from the US!

Have a wonderful day!

Blessings,
Holly

"In The City" Treat Bags

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  We enjoyed a trip to the Fort Worth Zoo on Saturday - they honored Veterans and their families with free passes!  Yesterday after church we met our former bus driver from MN at a park - she was in town visiting family and it was so nice to see her.  Our kids were excited to see a familiar face.  It was a very nice weekend.

And moving right on into Monday... This is a very busy week for me - 2 stamp classes and 12 year old's birthday party that I've been asked to be the "entertainment" for - we will be making a framed decoration piece and a bookmark.  More on that later...

Today I wanted to show you another cute way to use the In the City Hostess Set from Stampin' Up!  I adore this set and wish somehow it could stay around.
Now this is a two set stamp which makes it quick and easy to "color", but I wanted to use my Stampin' Blends another time.  I love the way they look!

These are my favorite cookies to make (and give away) - they're called Dipped Gingersnaps.

I used the 1 3/4", 2" and Starburst Circle Punches to create the tag.  I added some ribbon and Painted Autumn DSP scraps to finish them off.

Remember, stamps are just for making cards and scrapbook pages.  There's so much more to use them for to share what we love!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Blessings,
Holly

Country Livin' Meets Glamper Greetings - GDP112

This morning after I put our oldest on the bus, I decided to stamp for a few minutes.  Next thing I knew, it was almost 8:45 and my other 3 were still sleeping!! I was able to color a few of trucks from the Country Livin' set using the new Stampin' Blends.  If you haven't heard, Stampin' Up! has released a new line of alcohol based markers that are artist quality and very easy to use!  I've really enjoyed coloring with them.

I chose to color the truck blue and add some "rusty" spots - I like to think there's a field out there where an old beat up truck sits like this. :)  The colors I used for the main body of the truck were Light Bermuda Bay Blends and Light and Dark Pool Party Blends.

Now if you own the Country Livin' set, you may wonder were the banner and balloons come from.  That's where Glamper Greetings comes in to play.  These smaller little stamps fit perfectly with the truck.  The sentiment is also from the set.

I can't wait to try out more of these two set together!

I'm also entering this card for this week's challenge over at Global Design Project.  It might seem a stretch, but when I see Connie's beautiful card, I'm inspired by her perfect coloring and also by the "rustic" look which I tried to accomplish with my rusty truck.
Be sure to check out the GDP site for more inspiration!

Thanks again for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!
