Sweet Soiree Mother's Day for Fancy Friday!

It sure feels like a Monday - not a Friday (or Thursday night)... My camera battery is dead, charger is missing, my husband's car is in pieces in the driveway (which is why I missed girl's night out) and earlier today I tried to post this Fancy Friday post and my wifi is out.

Whew!

Well, I guess the only good part about missing girl's night out is that I have the peanut butter pie in my fridge.  #iwasinchargeofthebirthdaydessert

As grumpy as I sound, I'm happy to be blogging again with my talented Artisan friends!  It's been awhile.  Today we are sharing some really fabulous creations from the Spring Occasions Catalog.  I thought I would highlight the beautiful Sweet Soiree DSP and Embellishment Kit for a Mother's Day card.

This DSP is so pretty and the silver lining (so to speak) is throughout the paper pack.  I really love the extra detail it gives!

I tucked some vellum/silver cutouts from the Embellishment Kit behind the embossed layer.  I like the soft look they give.

For the inside, I used a sentiment from the Hold Onto Hope stamp set that is also in the catalog.

I hope you take the time to check out the rest of the hop!  Next up is the lovely Jen Timko!

Holly

Animal Outings - Stamparatus Spotlight!

It has been quite awhile since I've blogged and I must say - I am sorry!  I missed blogging and hope you missed seeing my cards too.  We are in full swing - pun intended - with 2 boys in baseball, lots of visitors and a recent craft show.  I am hoping to get back to blogging starting now! :)

Another reason that I've been busy was for an event earlier this month for Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  My mother, mother-in-law and a close family friend all were able to fly to Fort Worth to attend OnStage with me.  We got to see the NEW catalog that will be released in June, made some really nice cards and we won some new stamp sets! Woohoo!

I wanted to share a card I made with Animal Outings - a cuuuuute set!  My husband and I celebrated 11 years on Sunday and I wanted to make him a special card.  The stamp set only comes with 1 giraffe so I had to do a little trick for the reversed image.  You can check out this great video from Pepperly Rose Papercrafting to learn how to make this using your Stamparatus.

The giraffes and leaves were colored using the Stampin' Blends markers.  I absolutely love coloring with these markers.  I'm a fan of all coloring mediums, but these Blends are becoming my favorite!

I'm playing along with the SUO Challenge this week :) If you need some coloring inspiration, check out the SU Only Challenge and see the design teams creations.

For the inside, I wanted to carryover the leaves, the Tutti Fruitti DSP and black Washi Tape.  I also colored the stamp with my Basic Black and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers.

I am really happy with how it turned out and think I will try this mirror technique with a few other sets.  Thanks for swinging by!  Be sure to stop back Friday for Fancy Friday blog hop.

Blessings,
Holly
