Fancy Friday - Color Refresh with Treehouse Adventure

Hey there! Welcome to the Fancy Friday hop for June!  If you came for my sweet friend Cindy, thanks for continuing on to me! We are a group of past and present Artisans for Stampin' Up! and this month we are featuring some great new colors!

If you've had a chance to look at the new Stampin' Up! catalog, you probably noticed that there has been a color revamp!  I, personally, am very pleased with all of the new colors that have been added to the collection.  I am sad about Island Indigo and a few others that are now gone, but I'm much more excited about what is new and returning!

The colors that I chose today are some of my very favorite new ones! I'm in love with this new Gorgeous Grape and I'm certain everyone that has been around SU! for awhile is pleased to see Coastal Cabana back!

I chose to highlight a new set that I ordered right away.  Being a mom of four (3 of them are boys), I wanted this Treehouse Adventure set as soon as I saw it.  I twisted things up a little and made some projects showing you how versatile the set is... it's not just for treehouses! :)

This first card came from an idea I had for a row of grey houses and one with color.  I used a new color called Grey Granite for the other houses.  The are stamped off so the shade is a little darker in full color.

I wanted to add some background stamps so I pulled a few from Artisan Textures and Gallery Grunge.  I wanted to add a little more Gorgeous Grape so I took the "roof" of the treehouse and made some arrows.  Pretty sweet, right?  The "I Miss You" sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings.

And just look at those Soft Sea Foam sequins! Love them!

After staring at the purple arrows for a bit I decided to try something really fun.  I wasn't sure how it would work.  I stamped the roof in Gorgeous Grape a few times down the middle and slowly added some more squares/diamonds in the other colors.  I think I could have added just random diamonds, but decided to completely fill the background instead.  I really like how it turned out!

I cut a few other diamonds with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The "You Can Do Anything" sentiment is unique stamped this way. You can read it stacked, or left to right.  Cool, huh?

Lastly, I decided to make a cute little pillow box for a birthday gift.  I was so excited to see Kraft Pillow Boxes in the catalog.  You get 10 for $5 - a great price in my opinion.  These are great gift boxes for some chocolates, a small gift, a gift card or money.  Plus, they're super easy to decorate!

Well thanks again for joining us!  I'm a little long winded today, so thanks for reading the whole post!  Be sure to make you way around the hop.  There are some really fabulous (and fancy) color combos that I know you'll love!

Next up is the lovely Lauren Alarid (a current Artisan) - she is wonderfully talented and I know she's created something beautiful!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,
Holly

Get Well Soon with Healing Hugs

Seems like I always know someone that is under the weather (and I don't mean just my kids).  When I saw this new set in the Stampin' Up! catalog Healing Hugs, I really loved the font and sentiments and thought the big "get well soon" stamp would make some quick and easy cards.

Paired with some Garden Inspired DSP, this was a very simple card to make.

I love the little cross-stitch detailed stamp.

To help the 1/2" Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon, I took 2 strips of Soft Sea Foam scraps and broke down the fibers of the paper with my Bone Folder.  By doing so, it loosens the cardstock layers up and I'm able to pull the layers apart for neat textured look.

I have a special friend in mind for this card and I hope it brings a smile to her face. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
