Stitched Shapes Framelits & Stamp Set Sale! NOV 1st

Happy Halloween!!  I cannot begin to tell you how busy I am!  My parents will be here in about 4 hours and I still have to scrub floors, run the vacuum and get a few groceries.  I don't even want to admit that Halloween costumes are still not finished...
But since I have a chance to sit down and eat (a very late) lunch, I want to take a minute to share some news with you!  Starting tomorrow Tuesday November 1st, demonstrators AND customers can order the new Stitched Shapes Framelits.  You might be wondering what that is all about, so take a look at the video below.

Pretty awesome right??  These framelits are going to be released to us 7 months early!  AWESOME!
This is exciting for me because I always enjoyed the Paper Piercing mats that SU used to sell and since my sewing machine is currently broken, this is my way of getting that stitched look on a card!  Look at the cute detail!

And if that isn't cool enough, during the month of November, Stampin' Up! will be offering exclusive sets that coordinate nicely with the framelits at 25% off!  You can see the list below (please ignore my ipad screenshot) :)

Most sets are from the holiday catalog, but the last three are in the annual catalog!  Great time to save!

And as always, if you're looking to place an order, please check with me first to see if I have a current hostess code.  If I had multiple customers put in small orders, they add up and I am able to buy supplies for classes, giveaways and thank you presents!

My current hostess code is KFHZAVUZ

If you order the new framelits through me using the code above, I will send you a pack of Halloween Night Enamel Dots:

Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Perfect Plum can be used year round!

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Gimme All Your Candy! - TGIFC78

Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe we are already into the second half of October already??  I have been busy making a lot of Halloween treats for my nieces and nephew.  Two of my sisters asked if I would make tag toppers for the 2x8" cellophane bags from Stampin' Up! - 70 to be exact!

Here I am crankin' out all these candy treats and wouldn't you know, this week's theme at TGIF Challenges is a sweet candy theme!

I don't know about you, but I have mixed thoughts on candy corn.  I'm not even sure if I really like it or not... I prefer Kit Kat and Milky Way bars, but I see candy corn just hanging out in a bowl, I just snack at it.  But I'm not even sure if I really like it or if I just eat it because it's there... it's a love/hate relationship.

Ugh... I never should've bought any.

But I needed to buy some to snack on while I used this cute candy corn stamp from Jar of Haunts.

To get the look of the piled up candy corn, I took the candy corn stamp from the Jar of Haunts stamp set and stamped in on computer paper.  I then cut it out as best as I could around each piece of candy corn to make a mask.  I recommend using computer paper because it is thinner and the images will blend better without too much spacing in between.

For the falling pieces of candy corn, I inked a few of the pieces using Memento Black Ink and then cleaned off the excess.  This allowed me to cluster one, two or several pieces.  I colored the pieces in using Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Markers.  I added some of the Basic Black/Basic Gray twine from the Halloween Night Baker's Twine.  I finished the card with a sentiment from the Spooky Fun stamp set.

I hope you like my "sweet" candy creation!  I'm also adding this card to the following two challenges:

I REALLY hope you play along with us this week at TGIF!  Check out our main page here to see what the rest of the design team made!

Have a great weekend!

Lollipop Wrappers with Cheerful Tags - FabFri98

Happy Saturday!  I am so excited to show you something that I made yesterday!  My MIL ordered the new Cheerful Tags Framelits and since they were delivered to my house, I asked if I could make sure they worked alright! :) She's pretty awesome like that!

I've been buying (way too much) halloween candy lately.  The other day I bought some jolly rancher lollipops with the intention to somehow wrap them with some designer series paper (DSP).  When the Cheerful Tags Framelits showed up, I had a whole new vision in my head!

The Spooky Fun Bundle was the perfect match, and the color scheme this week for Fab Friday fit too!

Maybe I should stop typing and show you a picture or two??

I love this picture! These are seriously the cutest little treats!  I really wish I knew some older kids to give them too - I know the Kindergartners won't even bat an eye! :)

I had fun using the many different stamps from the Spooky Fun stamp set.  Lots of cute halloween stamps and sentiments.  Each lollipop has some Halloween Night Baker's Twine to hold the tag in place.

This tree is from the Halloween Scenes Edgelits that you can buy separately or bundle with Spooky Fun and save!

These were my first two that I actually made late Thursday night.  I finished the rest yesterday and wish I hadn't eaten so many suckers.. I would've had enough to make doubles of each of these designs too.

Last but certainly not least are these cute little spider ones.  These and the ghost one above are my favorites.

You can see here that the "circle" of the tag makes a perfect window to see what flavor of lollipop you get!  The circle is normally what hangs over the wine bottle, but I love finding other uses for products.

I hope that you liked these little treats!  I'd love to hear which one you like the best!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Just Keep Swimming - PCC214

Yesterday Sara Douglass (CEO of Stampin' Up!) shared on FB that her husband Sean was having some chest pains the other night and ended up at the ER.  Come to find out, he had a minor heart attack.  Pretty scary stuff - especially since they're a young family - but it seems like all is well now.

However, I thought I would make him a card.  Not for any brownie points or attention, but because this is why I do what I do.  I love to brighten someone's day with a card.  Something about taking time to create a card and write a note of encouragement.  I think the world needs a little more love these days.. so why not!

I used the sketch from Paper Craft Crew again - I really like the sketch Pam made.  I also wanted to incorporate the marlin stamp from the From Land to Sea set because I know that her husband posts a lot of videos about water skiing and boating.  Plus, I thought the "just keep swimming" sentiment was fun.

To watercolor the marlin, I stamped the image in Basic Gray Archival Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  This keeps the image from running when you color with an Aqua Painter.

For the background... let me explain. haha!  I actually was attempting to watercolor ink using my Aqua Painter and the Seasonal Decorative Masks but didn't like the circles afterall.  So I flipped the white circle over and just rubbed the cardstock over the excess ink left on the stencil.  I actually LOVE it!

The "water droplets" are made with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Just squeeze out a little dab.  You will need to let this dry (I did overnight) - same idea as the old crystal affects.

I think the Mint Macaron Cardstock embossed with the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder adds the perfect touch to this card.  I love adding lots of details and layers but in small amounts. :)

I hope that this inspires you to send a card to someone today - or even this week.  Spread some happiness in the mail!

Blessings,
Holly

50th Birthday Blessings - GDP057 & PCC214

Today is my neighbor Luann's 50th birthday and I wanted to make her a special card.  Luann and her family have been such a blessing since we moved here last December.  They really have become like family to us.  We go to church together, watch football together, go swimming in their pool.  They really are amazing.

So I wanted to make her a special card and not just pull one out of my collection.  Plus, '50' is kind of a special day!  So I decided I would join the fun at the Global Design Project (though, again, there is almost too much talent to compete with) and the fun sketch from the Paper Craft Crew.

For the background I stamped "happy birthday" from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  You may have seen me do this before for this card.  I like the way it looks for a background and wanted to do it again!

The numbers are cut in both Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride.

These Fancy Frost Sequins matched pretty close in my opinion.  The actual colors are Sweet Sugarplum and Soft Sky, but you wouldn't have been able to tell had I told you otherwise, right? :)

The sentiment I chose is from the Number of Years stamp set.  I added some Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim, Blushing Bride Solid Baker's Twine and some Gold Metallic Thread.  The DSP is the Blooms & Bliss DSP that is currently for sale with the buy 3, get 1 free promotion.  Great time to stock up on Stampin' Up!'s designer paper. (Click on DSP promotion image below.)

I hope that you enjoyed this card.  I'm off to the neighbor's house to wish her a happy birthday!

Have a great rest of the week!

I'm Here for You - TGIFC76

Hey there!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I had a long weekend because of my craft show - but I'm so glad I did it!  I only sold cards, tags and a few pumpkins I made with scrap wood and retired DSP and I walked away with $250! (I actually made $384, but I deducted my vendor fee and the money I spent on this gorgeous piece of furniture that you'll see below!)  Not too shabby!  I even had 2 other vendors ask if I would like to sell my cards at their stores!  The only downside to the whole thing was that it was 3 hours of driving each day.  Saturday night I went to bed at 8 with a pounding headache.  I really pushed myself too far.

In fact, I was so distracted by this craft show that I forgot my TGIF card!  So, here it is on Sunday night!  There is still plenty of time to play along so I hope you join us at TGIF Challenges!

We have a beautiful fall color combo for you.

The leaves here in MN are really changing and as I drove on my hour and a half drive to the vendor show I saw so many birch and aspen trees inspiring me to make this card.

I love the In the Meadow stamp set and thought it was a perfect set for this color combo.  I'm out of kraft cardstock, so Tip Top Taupe subbed in.

I used my Aqua Painter on Shimmery White CS to make the background and color the Lots of Labels layer with the tree.  I added a few Pumpkin Pie Brights Enamel Dots and finished with a sentiment from the Here for You stamp set.

I hope that you join us this week! We love to see everyone's creations each week!  You inspire us too!

Here is the beautiful "pool party" piece of furniture I bought at the vendor show.  Most of the vendors sold handmade/antique/refurbished/artsy/shabby chic style pieces - this one is an old radio cabinet that's been emptied out.  I'm not sure if I'll use it for a coffee bar (I don't drink coffee), a guest room piece or whether I'll use it in my craft room.

Have a wonderful week!

Basket of Wishes - Day 4 of

Hi there!  I'm sorry if you're been following along this week and were looking for my final Basket of Wishes post!  My craft show is ending today and I haven't had a chance to finish this highlight on this awesome set!  If you're lost... I have been sharing this week cards that I made last Saturday to celebrate World Card Making Day.  I used the Basket of Wishes set from the holiday catalog and made 8 cards.  If you missed the first 6 cards, you can see them below - but please make sure to see the three previous posts from this earlier this week for up close pictures and details.

Two different cards - one a little more detail than the other - but nothing too difficult.

I wanted to play along with Mojo Monday's sketch but was a little late.  I still liked the look of the sketch though with the divided panel and the accent left of the circle.  Sketches are a great place to start if you need some ideas!

Another very simple card.  I love the Layering Circles Framelits and how the scalloped circle just peeks out from behind! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!  I'll be posting again tonight with my (LATE) TGIF card!

Blessings,
Holly

Basket of Wishes - Day 3 of 4

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope this week is going well for you!  I'm down to my last day for my craft show prep - so I'll be a busy bee today!  I have been sharing this week cards that I made on Saturday to celebrate World Card Making Day.  I used the Basket of Wishes set from the holiday catalog and made 8 cards.  If you missed the first 4 cards, please make sure to see the two previous posts from this week.

I love this set for many reasons, but my favorite stamp in the set is the bunch of succulents!  I think Sweet Sugarplum is a perfect color for some succulents.

I added a little hint of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock using the Layering Circles Framelits.  I love just that little bit peeking through.

I also splattered some Tip Top Taupe ink using an Aqua Painter.

Now you may notice, the birthday sentiment was cut up for these two cards.  The card above I used the bottom part of the sentiment for and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.  The top part I used for the next card.

For a fun background, I stamped just the top part of the sentiment in Memento Ink.  Because this set is a photopolymer set, you can see where the ink is transferred.  I embossed a layer of Whisper White cardstock with the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and cut it at an angle.  Lastly, I added a few 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes to finish off the card! :)

I hope you have been enjoying these cards highlighting the Basket of Wishes stamp set!  Tomorrow I have the last two to share using the berry basket.  This might also be my next Stamps in the Mail kit - so stay tuned!

Be sure to check out below the current deals with Stampin' Up!  Some end today - so don't miss it!

Blessings,
Holly

Basket of Wishes - Day 2 of 4

Hello everyone!  I'm excited to share my second day of Basket of Wishes with you!  These are probably my 2 favorites out of the 8 that I made on Saturday.  Saturday was World Card Making Day and I was able to sit down and make a bunch of cards.  If you missed the first 2 cards that I made with this set, you can see them here.  I will be sharing 4 more cards with this set tomorrow and Thursday.

The Basket of Wishes stamp set comes with a few baskets, fillers and sentiments to mix and match to your liking.  I love to color these images too!
When I saw the new challenge over at Fab Friday Challenges, I knew I wanted to play along and use this set for the card.  I love a simple sketch! I thought the basket would work great with the focal point front and center framed in the circle. I'm also adding this card to the Thanksgiving theme at SU Only Challenges.

Here are the two cards I made with the basket of pumpkins and gourds:

I haven't used my Woodlands Embossing Folder for quite sometime.  I think when it "retired" I tried not to use it.  Thankfully, Stampin' Up! heard the cries of us stampers and decided to bring it back!

Here I showed the reversed embossed part - I like the trees that way. :)

My absolute favorite part of this card is the Linen Thread.  I took my 1/16" Punch and made two holes on the sides of the basket to loop the thread through.  It turned out super cute and it was easier than gluing tiny pieces on the basket (honestly, my first thought)...

Simple enough...

For my next card, I didn't want to change it up too much.  I kept the same Woodland and Delightful Dijon DSP - same coloring for the basket...

For the sentiment, I stamped the "blessing of you" on white cardstock and used Stampin' Dimesionals to really make it stand out.  I tucked a little bit of the Delightful Dijon 5/8" Mini Striped Ribbon behind each side of the sentiment.  You don't need to put ribbon across the whole back, just 1" pieces folded on each side.

So there you have it - day TWO of my Basket of Wishes highlight!  I hope you enjoyed these two cards.  Please pin them if you like them. :)

And remember... only two days left for the awesome World Card Making Day sale!  And for the entire month of October, stock up on DSP with the B3G1 deal!
Details are below!

Blessings,
Holly
