Two for Tuesday with Blends! - Color Me Happy Sneak Peek

Happy Tuesday!  I'm so excited to share these two cards with you today.  I made these cards with my mother last week and planned to keep them for a blog post later on, but I just couldn't wait any longer.  I hope you like them as much as I do!

If you have not heard, Stampin' Up! will be releasing new artist-quality alcohol markers on November 1st!!

The new "Blends" are very easy to use (and I have never picked up a Copic in my life!) - I think they blend easily together within the same color duo, color family or even as shown below with mixtures of multiple colors.  The stamp set I used is called Color Me Happy and will be available as supplies last.

For this card, I masked the lanterns on top of each other and colored each one with multiple Blends.  I used the Daffodil Delight Blends on each one so the lanterns have the glowing look to them.

The "so happy for you" sentiment is also from the Color Me Happy stamp set.  I finished the card by adding some Gold Metallic Thread and coloring each lantern with Wink of Stella.

The second card actually came about because I got ink on the bottom right of the card front.  Of course this happened after I colored all of the lanterns.  I decided to look through my stamp collection and find a different sentiment to go with the lanterns.  The Watts of Occasions stamp set was perfect!

I added more Gold Metallic Thread and Wink of Stella - so pretty :)

If you know me, you know I don't make many simple cards.  These are some of my favorites I've made all year!!  I hope you enjoy them too!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Holly

Crates of Gourd Goodness

Happy Fall Ya'll!
Are you enjoying the weather where you are?  It isn't quite "fall" here in Texas compared to Minnesota where we lived last year, but the pumpkins, mums and fall decor help!

If you're joining our hop for the first time, welcome!  You probably came from the blog of my talented friend Dani - so thank you for continuing on to me!  We are a group of demonstrators from across the globe that represent Stampin' Up! and their amazing products!  Be sure to use google translate so you don't miss any detail!

Today we are featuring some beautiful Autumn stamp sets - Gourd Goodness and Count My Blessings.  I really like the sentiments in Count My Blessings, but I like the 2-step stamping of the other so I chose to highlight the Gourd Goodness stamp set.  The pumpkins and gourds come as two-step stamps which help to give these images some nice depth and dimension by using two different ink colors.

For the background of each card, I used the Burlap background stamp with tone on tone Crumb Cake color.  I then added some Vellum and Coffee Cafe Designer Series Paper (DSP) as a base for my crate.

The crate was cut using the Wood Crate Framelits and the Wood Textures DSP.  I added some Pool Party Solid Baker's Twine, 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and a heart from the Corrugated Elements pack.

The crate, pumpkins and gourds were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The second card was made similarly except this time I used the side of the Wood Crate Framelits to make a smaller crate.

The Classic Label Punch is a favorite of mine!  Do you own this punch?  *You should!*

For the little tag, I used the backside of one of the Corrugated Elements and used my Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker to make a custom tag.

I hope that you like my cards!  It's been so nice sharing my creations with you all over the past year.  Only a few hops left before the new team takes over!  I would love to hear from you - leave a comment and pin your favorites but be sure to make your way around the hop!

Next up is the lovely Jennifer Sootkoos!

Thanks again for stopping by!

Stampin' Blends Sneak Peek

Happy Wednesday to you! We're halfway through the week and it's a beautiful day here in Texas.  Monday was 96 and today is a cool 70! It's so nice out that I feel guilty typing up a blog post - BUT I want to show you some exciting news!

Stampin' Up! is releasing new alcohol markers called Stampin' Blends.  If you are a fan of the alcohol markers (like copics) but you don't necessarily have the room or money to buy hundreds of shades, you'll be happy to know that the Stampin' Blends come in 12 color pairs (light and dark) and they don't take up much room at all.  I found they are very easy to work with and I've never picked up at copic marker in my life!  Very user friendly!

So since they aren't released yet, you might be wondering when you can get your hands on them.  Because Stampin' Up! would like to ensure there is sufficient inventory when they are released, the release date is to be determined, as they monitor buying patterns during this early release period.  This week is the best time to join my team!  In fact, it's the only week left that you can order these in advance - but you must be a demonstrator!

Even better news?  If you join my team today, you can add these markers to your starter kit!  For $99 you can customize your starter kit and get $125 worth of product!

Here is a closer look at the card I made using the Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Blends with the Color Lifter.  I think the Remarkable You stamp set is a great set to use these with as well.

I started with the lighter of the two markers and then blended with the dark, and back over the image again with the light marker - blending where the two shades meet.  The Color Lifter works wonders in lightening up areas of the images.

I hope you are as excited about these as I am!  Who doesn't enjoy coloring?  So relaxing!

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.  Feel free to ask me questions about the markers - I will do my best to answer!

Blessings,
Holly

World Card Making Day Blog Hop 2017

Hello and happy Saturday to you! Today is a fun day in the crafty stamping world - World Card Making Day! I try to make every day a card making day - but to have a specified day, I think that's wonderful!
Today I'm so excited to be a part of a global group of demonstrators sharing our love of card making with a special blog hop. There is a ton of talent on this list - I mean, I'm hopping with the Brian King - how cool! Everyone on this hop is fantastic and I know you'll be inspired. If you came from my awesome Artisan teammate Cathy's blog, thanks for continuing on to my blog!
The card I made today is one I'm very excited about. I love when I have an idea in mind and it turns out nice enough to share! Others that don't turn out don't make it to the blog. Haha! Today's card features the exclusive hostess set called Merry Patterns. I saw a water bottle at the ballfield the other night that was white with flowers and deer antlers (that's Texas for ya) and I thought I'd try to replicate the look. I also have seen this theme in my searches for little girl's nurseries - so maybe Stampin' Up! will make a similar stamp in the future ;)
I stamped the flowers from the Hello, Friend stamp set using Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist and Crumb Cake. The branches are hand drawn with a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker.
The deer head is from the Merry Patterns stamp set. I inked the head and antlers and drew in the line for the neck. I then "mounted" the deer head onto a piece of Wood Textures DSP that I punched out with the Badge Punch and modified to make smaller.
For the inside of the card I continued the Wood Textures DSP and the flowers. The sentiment is from Just Add Text which is one of the stamp sets on sale through Monday.
I hope that you like my card! I absolutely love card making and hope that you do too! If you're in the Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas, I'd love to have you join one of my classes to learn how much fun card making can be! Again, don't forget that Stampin' Up! has a World Card Making Day promo going on through Monday with certain stamp sets 15% off and a month long promotion on select designer series paper - buy 3 packs, get a 4th free!
Next up is the lovely and very talented Jessie Holton from Australia!

Below is a list of all of the participating bloggers! Be sure to check out the entire hop, pin your favorites and leave some comments! :)

Blessings,
Holly

Sending Hugs for TGIFC128

Happy Friday!  Hope you are well and ready for the weekend.  Do you know tomorrow is World Card Making Day?  A perfect reason to make a card and join us this week for our color challenge at TGIF Challenges.  A fun fall color combo!

Although these are great colors for fall, I wanted to do something different.  I had a few friends in attendance at the concert in Las Vegas this past Sunday night.  Fortunately, my friends all made it out alive, but I know they're going through a lot emotionally.  Needless to say, they were on my mind with this card.

I haven't used Country Livin' too much, but this is a nice set for coloring - perfect for a color challenge!  The designer series papers (DSP) that I used are the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Wood Textures DSP and the music paper (Merry Music Specialty DSP) is from the holiday catalog.  This paper is black and white but I used a Sponge Brayer and Crumb Cake Ink to change it up.

The first two DSPs listed are on the list for this month's special.  If you buy 3 select DSPs, you get an additional pack FREE!  In addition to the DSP on sale, there are select stamp sets on sale for World Card Making Day now through the 10th of October.  You can find the list of stamp sets here.  If you order using hostess code DAQ9FAFE, I will send you something extra as a thank you!

I hope you like it! Please join us this week - we love seeing your creations!

Blessings,

Holly
