Final Quirky Critters Highlight (for now!)

Hey there!

Just a quick post today.  We are packing lots of boxes today so I need to focus on packing, and sadly enough, not stamping!  But, I've been sharing cards from the Quirky Critters stamp set over the last few days and wanted to share the last of the 4 cards I made.

If you missed any of the highlights, make sure you check out my previous 3 posts.  Each day has featured new ribbon, Naturally Eclectic DSP and new embossing folders.

Today's card features the new Polka Dots Basic TIEF and many of the new in-colors.  The card base is Fresh Fig, the embossed layer is Berry Burst and the ribbon is Lemon Lime Twist.

I thought the DSP looked like watercolor paper, so I decided to stamp the image on Watercolor Paper as well.  For the colorful background, I used Fresh Fig, Emerald Envy and Lemon Lime Twist.  I sponged all three colors, spritzed with water and dried with the Heat Tool.

I stamped two images to give the card a little more dimension.  I used a Blender Pen and the coordinating inks to color the cute little narwhal.  I added a few of the new Glitter Enamel Dots to finish the card off.

So there you have it.  A cute little bird, sloth, snail and narwhal.  Such a fun, cute set!  I'm sure it will be a new favorite of mine.

Have a wonderful day!

Quirky Critters - You Snailed It!

Welcome back to day three of the Quirky Critters highlight!  You can check out the previous two posts by scrolling back on my blog.

For this card, I used the new Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I'm really loving all of the new folders, but this one is my favorite!!

I added a few new peeks of color with this card.  The Lemon Lime Twist peeking out is made with the Starburst Punch and the Berry Burst peeking out from under the Naturally Eclectic DSP is from the Decorative Ribbon Boarder.

Another cute card from this adorable set!  What do you think about this set?  Would it be one you'd like to see as a Stamps in the Mail kit?

Let me know!

Blessings,
Holly

Quirky Critters Sloth - Just for fun!

Wow.. It's been quit awhile now since I've had the chance to sit down and just stamp for fun.  Yesterday morning I was able to sit down and make a few cards while my husband manned the yard sale and the boys still slept.  I made 4 different cards with the new Quirky Critters stamp set from Stampin' Up!  This set is adorable - but what really drew me in was this sloth!  Perfect for me - I'm always behind on birthday cards!

Here are the 4 cards I made.  If you missed the crushed curry bird card, you can see it here.  I was the special guest for Kylie Bertucci's Crazy Crafters Blog Hop yesterday and shared the first card of the four.

Each card featured a brand new embossing folder.  For this card, I chose the Ruffled Dinamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  It really looks more wavy than it shows in the picture.
(My camera battery is dead and the charger is hiding from me... so, please excuse the phone photos.)

I paired the Lemon Lime Twist layer with the Night of Navy paper from the Naturally Eclectic DSP.  I also added some of the new Crushed Curry Solid Baker's Twine.

Isn't this sloth so cute??

I hope that I won't have to send too many belated cards, but when I do, I know this will still bring a smile.  Enjoy your Sunday!

Blessings,
Holly

Quirky Critters for Crazy Crafters Blog Hop!

Happy Saturday (or Sunday) to you! I'm so honored and excited to be the special guest for today's Crazy Crafters Blog Hop.  When Kylie asked me to be a part of the fun, I couldn't say no!  I have a hard time saying no - so here I am - 6.5 pregnant with my 4th child in the middle of a move across the country in two weeks!! I did, however, have a chance to play with some new goodies - even though I should have been packing! :)

So, I'd like to say thank you Kylie for inviting me to be a part of today's hop!  Make sure you all take a few minutes to make your way around the globe.

Today I made 4 cards using the Quirky Critters stamp set from the brand new catalog.  As soon as I saw this set I knew I wanted it.  I'm going to share the details of the one card today and then over the next few days, cover the other 3.

For the color theme, I based it off of the Naturally Eclectic DSP - Lemon Lime Twist, Night of Navy, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Crushed Curry, Emerald Envy and Soft Sky.  I also incorporated FOUR new awesome embossing folders!

For today's card - I chose the cute little bird.

The new Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF is beautiful - love the deep impression of it!

The new Night of Navy 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding is also something I am very pleased with!  I didn't think I would like the wrinkled look, but I really do!

I hope that you like this card and would love if you came back to check out the rest of the collection this week!  Be sure to make your way around the hop for lots of lovely inspiration!

Blessings for a great week!

Color Theory Highlight - Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to another blog hop with the Artisan Design Team!  I hope that you've been following along with us all year, but if not and this is your first time, welcome!  We are a group of 20 demonstrators from all over the globe that have the privilege of representing Stampin' Up! on their design team.  If you came from my talented friend Dani, thanks for continuing on to me!  And if along the way you need translate a blog, you can use google translate so you won't miss any details!

Today I want to share with you a card I made today using the Color Theory suite.  I really like the sentiments in this set but have been struggling with the rest of the set.  (Just being honest.)  Fortunately, the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack and the new Color Theory Memories & More* Card Pack helped make this card shine.

*Memories & More is the awesome new product replacing Project Life.  So awesome, in fact, that the first time I flipped through the catalog, I didn't even notice.  Not much difference - same great concept!

The crackled Dapper Denim background is from the DSP stack and the Old Olive and White card layer is one of the cards from the Memories & More pack.  Great way to use up the cards by adding them as a layer!  The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White and cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

The new 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon comes in 3 colors - Bermuda Bay, Old Olive and Crushed Curry which I chose for this card.  You can see the chevron up close.  It's a very pretty ribbon - but they always are, right?

I think this card could be sent with my son for his teacher.  I think the last day of school is a pretty happy one for the teachers too! :)

Well, school is officially out today!  Very exciting!

And do you know what else is out today?!?  The NEW 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog!! :)  Happy dance here!  I can hardly wait to get my hands on some great new product!

While you wait for your order to ship, take a look around on the hop!  I know you won't be disappointed. As always, you can find the complete list of blogs below. Next up is the lovely Jennifer Sootkoos from New Jersey!

Thanks again for stopping by!  Now go make your wish list!

Celebrating 5 Years - Kelly Kent Highlight!

Welcome to a very special blog hop!  Today I'm joining 20+ global demonstrators in celebration of Kelly Kent's 5th anniversary with Stampin' Up!  If you don't have Kelly's blog saved as a favorite, you're missing out on some amazing creations!  We've been on a design team together before and I hope to see her name on the ADT someday!  She's a gal I've followed and admired for awhile now and I'm so honored to be a part of her "party"!

If you came from Nicole Goding's blog - thanks for continuing on to me!  Make sure you make your way around the entire hop and leave some love for Kelly!

For the celebration, I thought I'd share a special card I made for my niece Hannah.  Tomorrow is her 16th birthday and I couldn't just give her any ol' card I had made already.  This needed to be fun and special!  It's also to get you in the mood for Thursday's Artisan Design Team blog hop where we will be highlighting this framelit and coordinating stamp set (Happy Birthday Gorgeous).

I first started by making a card base with some of the new (and very lovely) Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP.  I cut a large circle out using the Layering Circles Framelits and added some Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate.  Then I sponged some white cardstock with Island Indigo to help the acetate and thinlit stand out.

The new Happy Birthday Thinlit was attached using the new Big Shot Adhesive Sheets that will be available June 1st.  These sheets are a perfect adhesive when you don't feel like getting Fine Tip Glue everywhere :)

I added some new ribbons too - Mini Sequin Trim and some Lemon Lime Twist 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.  Some Island Indigo Enamel Shapes and the "sixteeth" from Milestone Moments and the front is complete!

For the inside, I continued the sponged look, the foil DSP, Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and a few of the mini sequins.  The "make a wish" is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

I hope that you like this card!  I was fun to make this special for my niece - hard to believe she's so grown up.  Here we are 12 years ago... Sitting in my driveway for a picture... don't worry - we didn't go anywhere!

I hope you all have a fantastic time hopping around the globe in celebration of the lovely Kelly Kent!!  Next up is the talented Claudia Ausborn from Germany!

Thanks again for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!

Blessings,
Holly

Introducing the new 2017-2019 In Colors!

Happy Saturday!  I hope that you're having a great weekend so far.  Today I wanted to share with you the new in colors for Stampin' Up!  Every 2 years there are 5 new colors that are introduced that experts predict are or will be trending.  These new colors are replacing Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush and Mint Macaron.

The stamp set featured today is a new set coming out in the new catalog (June 1st) called Bright Wishes.  Each card is colored with all 5 new colors with the addition of some neutrals.

Do you have a new favorite color?  I love the Fresh Fig - reminds me a lot of Blackberry Bliss and I surprised myself and really like the Lemon Lime Twist! It's a very versatile color that coordinates with more than you would think.

I'd love to here what you think of this new stamp set and the in colors!

Have a great rest of the weekend!
