Stamp Review Crew - Foxy Friends

Welcome to our first hop of September and Happy Labor Day to my US readers!  This month has totally snuck up on us, hasn't it?  If this is your first time seeing a hop from the Stamp Review Crew - welcome!  We are a group of stampers from all over the globe that highlight a particular stamp set on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month!  If you came from Mike's page - thank you for continuing on to me.  I love Mike's work and think it's awesome that a guy stamps!  It's not just for the ladies.. :)

So let's get the show on the road.  This month we are focusing on Foxy Friends.  This set is adorable and comes with a matching punch.  There is even a stamper that has come up with over 100 ideas for the punch.  It's awesome!

And while I do love the foxes and raccoons and other cute little animals.. I wanted to mix things up a little and do something completely different, but still using the Foxy Friends set of course!

Yes, you read that right.  I'm going to show you how to make two neat backgrounds with this set.
(No animals were hurt or punched or stamped in this post.)

This idea came to me to make a quilt block/lattice look and I couldn't wait to try it.  I stamped the first two "facing each other" in the center of the card and went on from there.  This helped me keep things symmetrical from left to right and top to bottom.

My OCD would've kicked in otherwise.

I also stamped the "face" image on some Pear Pizzazz cardstock, punched it out and used it for leaves.

Here is a closer look at the background:

Another background I made is this vertical ombre look.  I love the look of anything ombre... well, maybe not my mis-tanned legs... But you know what I mean, right?  Ombre is awesome!

I chose Perfect Plum for the background and paired it with Melon Mambo and Gold.

Gold splatter = more awesomeness.

:) There you have it!  I sure hope you enjoyed this take on the Foxy Friends set.  I know you'll get plenty of ideas from the rest of the design team with the little critters.

Make sure you make your way around the blog hop!  Head back to Mike or on to my partner in crime - Rochelle Blok!

Blessings,
Holly
