Celebrating 5 Years - Kelly Kent Highlight!

Welcome to a very special blog hop!  Today I'm joining 20+ global demonstrators in celebration of Kelly Kent's 5th anniversary with Stampin' Up!  If you don't have Kelly's blog saved as a favorite, you're missing out on some amazing creations!  We've been on a design team together before and I hope to see her name on the ADT someday!  She's a gal I've followed and admired for awhile now and I'm so honored to be a part of her "party"!

If you came from Nicole Goding's blog - thanks for continuing on to me!  Make sure you make your way around the entire hop and leave some love for Kelly!

For the celebration, I thought I'd share a special card I made for my niece Hannah.  Tomorrow is her 16th birthday and I couldn't just give her any ol' card I had made already.  This needed to be fun and special!  It's also to get you in the mood for Thursday's Artisan Design Team blog hop where we will be highlighting this framelit and coordinating stamp set (Happy Birthday Gorgeous).

I first started by making a card base with some of the new (and very lovely) Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP.  I cut a large circle out using the Layering Circles Framelits and added some Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate.  Then I sponged some white cardstock with Island Indigo to help the acetate and thinlit stand out.

The new Happy Birthday Thinlit was attached using the new Big Shot Adhesive Sheets that will be available June 1st.  These sheets are a perfect adhesive when you don't feel like getting Fine Tip Glue everywhere :)

I added some new ribbons too - Mini Sequin Trim and some Lemon Lime Twist 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.  Some Island Indigo Enamel Shapes and the "sixteeth" from Milestone Moments and the front is complete!

For the inside, I continued the sponged look, the foil DSP, Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and a few of the mini sequins.  The "make a wish" is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

I hope that you like this card!  I was fun to make this special for my niece - hard to believe she's so grown up.  Here we are 12 years ago... Sitting in my driveway for a picture... don't worry - we didn't go anywhere!

I hope you all have a fantastic time hopping around the globe in celebration of the lovely Kelly Kent!!  Next up is the talented Claudia Ausborn from Germany!

Thanks again for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!

Blessings,
Holly

Introducing the new 2017-2019 In Colors!

Happy Saturday!  I hope that you're having a great weekend so far.  Today I wanted to share with you the new in colors for Stampin' Up!  Every 2 years there are 5 new colors that are introduced that experts predict are or will be trending.  These new colors are replacing Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush and Mint Macaron.

The stamp set featured today is a new set coming out in the new catalog (June 1st) called Bright Wishes.  Each card is colored with all 5 new colors with the addition of some neutrals.

Do you have a new favorite color?  I love the Fresh Fig - reminds me a lot of Blackberry Bliss and I surprised myself and really like the Lemon Lime Twist! It's a very versatile color that coordinates with more than you would think.

I'd love to here what you think of this new stamp set and the in colors!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Happy Celebrations Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to another blog hop with the Artisan Design Team!  I hope that you've been following along with us all year, but if not and this is your first time, welcome!  We are a group of 20 demonstrators from all over the globe that have the priveledge of representing Stampin' Up! on their design team.  If you came from my talented friend Dani, thanks for continuing on to me!  And if along the way you need translate a blog, you can use google translate so you won't miss any details!

Today we are sharing with you creations that we have made with either the Happy Celebrations stamp set and the coordinating embossing folders or products from the Cool Treats suite!

I chose to work with the Happy Celebrations stamp set
and here is what I have created:

My sister Kelly is a high school teacher and her birthday is a week from today!  So I thought this would be the perfect card!  Unfortunately for her, the m&m's won't ship, so I will have to enjoy her little snack. :)

I thought the font for the word happy looked like chalk lines and decided to make a chalkboard.  For the "chalkboard" look I embossed the word happy using Versamark and White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I then took Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad and my Stamping Sponge and lightly swirled around the Basic Black cardstock.
Tip: Avoid pressing too hard while swirling the white ink or you will get more concentrated ink spots.  Lighting swirl the sponge around and add more if you like.

For the apple, I took the smaller circle stamp and stamped red on red and fussy cut it out.  The wooden embellishment leaves (available June 1st) were sponged with Lemon Lime Twist.

I also wanted to make a little gift.  Again, I'll be eating it since we live states away from each other - but at least you have an idea!  I used the new Wood Crate Framelits to create this cute treat holder.  The awesome wood DSP is also a sneak peek at something you can order June 1st (or now if you're a demo!).  I love the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack.

The candies are in a 3"x 6" Gusseted Cellophane Bag and the tag is simply a circle punched with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.

I hope you enjoyed my creations! Don't forget to pin your favorites! (or follow the SU! Artisan Design Team Pinterest board)  Make your way around the blog too - we love to hear from you!

Donut Forget - Paper Pumpkin Alternative

I'm not normally a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, but have really enjoyed the last two months.  When I heard May's kit was going to be cards, I signed up again for another month.  SU! also shared some clues for this month's theme which so happened to be DONUTS!  Awesome!  I decided to make an alternate card for this month's kit to share with you.

Earlier last month I created this donut using another stamp set, but didn't really have any sentiment to go with it.  When my kit arrived today I immediately went to my craft space and made this card!

If you're wondering where the glossy look comes from, it is simply a thin layer of glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I sprinkled some of the Sprinkles Embellishments from the Occasions Catalog.

The gold thread and striped paper is also from the Paper Pumpkin kit this month.  The pink that you see is Powder Pink - one of the new in colors. :)

So since you're probably wondering where the donut came from - it's a set called Oh So Eclectic.  A few weeks back I shared with you a sneak peek at the new set coming out in June.  Some of you that have your hands on the new catalog will see it grace the cover.  I borrowed my MIL's set that she won last month at OnStage - since I don't have the set to show you, I hope you can get an idea from this card.

The watercolored flower layer (Bermuda Bay) is the same as the Early Espresso layer of icing in the donut card.  Pretty neat, huh?

I hope that you enjoyed this fun creation!  I am anxious to get the rest of my Paper Pumpkin kit put together and share that with you as well.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

In the City - Hostess Sneak Peak!

Friends, it's been awhile hasn't it?

I haven't posted in almost 2 weeks which is just crazy to me and I miss it!  I held 3 classes this month - probably my last until our move - and haven't sat down to stamp much for fun.

Well, at least I hadn't until this awesome stamp set showed up at my door last week!  I usually don't purchase hostess sets as I don't hold many parties, but I had to get this set for my boys.  They loved the 2-step bug set in the occasions catalog and I knew they'd like this too!

This set is called In the City - a 60 stamp photopolymer set!! Lots of cute buildings, vehicles, nature and sentiments.  No need to color really.  The colored images are stamps!

The only coloring I did here was the cakes in the bakery, the stained glass windows and the blue/white awning.  Even the little doors are stamps!  I did add a road with the swipe of my Smoky Slate Stampin' Write Marker and a few birds with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  I think I'll leave this card for the family that purchased our home.

I fussy cut the cars and added them on with the new Mini Dimensionals.  They are awesome!

As I said, there are some cute sentiments in this set - but I actually changed one up a bit.  We recently had a friend visit us so I took the "thanks for letting us visit!" sentiment and made my own custom sentiment!

I love photopolymer for this reason!  And the new sentiment fit perfectly inside the Classic Label Punch.

I love the little church in this stamp set.  My father has been a minister for the last 25+ years and I wanted to make a special card just for him.  I paired this with the sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set and stamped it on the large circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies.

I added some of the building images as a background which I think really helped with the otherwise boring Smoky Slate card base.  I added a panel of Wild Wasabi cardstock embossed with the Seaside Textured Embossing Folder.  A few Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shapes, new 3/8" Bermuda Bay Mini Chevron Ribbon, Crushed Curry Cardstock and Dimensionals and the card is complete!

Pretty cute huh?

If you'd like to earn your own In the City stamp set - you need a $150 minimum order OR host a party and earn it free with qualifying party orders!

I hope you like these cards!  I have a feeling I'll be sharing more soon!

Blessings,
Holly

Eastern Palace Highlight - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another blog hop with Stampin' Up's Artisan Design Team!  We are a group of 20 global demonstrators chosen by SU! to represent their awesome products in hopes to inspire you with our creations!  If you came from Dani's page - thanks for continuing to me!  I love her work - but sometimes she is a tough act to follow :)  I hope you like what I've made for you today.

Last month another ADT member (Tanya Boser) stayed at my house the night before OnStage.  She spilled the beans on here awesome watercoloring (maybe she can explain it best).  I absolutely loved how the backgrounds turned out on a few cards we made and I couldn't help but make some more watercolor cards to highlight the three in-colors that you will get with the purchase of either bundle!

This color combo is:  Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide and Dapper Denim.  I used a strip of Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper, Dapper Denim 3/8" Ruched Ribbon and the fringe from the Mini Tassels Assortment (more on that below).

I wanted to show off these beautiful Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies and thought they looked so pretty in Vellum.  Neither the diecut or the watercolor overshadow each other.  I think the soft look of the Vellum helps.  A few gold enamel shapes from the Metallic Enamel Shapes pack and the card is complete.

The second card is very similar to the first as far as supplies go.  A different medallion and sentiment, but that's it.  The color combo here is Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum and Fresh Fig. (LOVE this new color!!)

Now you may notice the Tranquil Tide and the Fresh Fig twine sticking out from behind the medallions.  This was a very simple trick.  I think these tassels are adorable, but aren't they even cuter as "mini" Mini Tassels?  You can get two uses out of each tassel this way! Just snip half of the twine off and adhere it to the back of your cardstock.  Save the little tassels for later!

I hope you enjoyed my creations!
Demonstrators have been able to order these products for a month now.  You may have seen some beautiful projects so far with the Eastern Palace Suite and I hope that this hop helps sway you! :)  I have seen many projects - from simple to stunning!
