Two for Tuesday - Embossing Paste Highlight

Happy Tuesday!  I have 2 fun cards today that I made with the same background.  I actually made this last week but I have had some camera issues and had to buy a new card reader.

Long story short, yay for Amazon Prime!  Shopping in Texas heat with 3 kiddos and pregnant with a 4th is just so not worth it sometimes.

The two cards I made feature the new Embossing Paste.  Now, embossing paste has been around the crafting industry for awhile, but I am so excited that Stampin' Up! is now carrying it!  I've made a few cards so far with the paste using the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Palette Knives and I've barely scratched the surface of the amount of paste you get.

These two cards I made using the "brick" pattern.  The first one is a birthday card I made for one of my nieces.  I have two nieces who have birthdays back to back next week - just haven't decided who will get this card.

The color combo I chose for this card is from the current color challenge at Fab Friday Challenges.  It's a lot of bold colors so it was certainly a challenge to get all of them on one card.

I colored the fairy and berry branch with my Stampin' Write Markers.  You could easily use Aqua Painters or Blender Pens with your ink pads too.

I added all of the colors using various diecuts, ribbon and enamel dots.  I love the Stampin' Up! has perfectly coordinating products.  It really makes your cards look complete!

The Embossing Paste dries within a few minutes (like 2?) - very quick!  It doesn't get hard and crumbly either - you can easily bend the cardstock... It's almost like a soft clay - but it does harden enough that it doesn't rub off.  I hope that makes sense!  I also love the fact that you get a different look each time unless of course you fully fill in each brick.

The second card I made features some of the beautiful Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.  I really like the floral print and hated to cut it up, but I'm really happy with how this card came out.  Kylie Bertucci says if you "love it, chop it" - so don't be like me and hoard all that paper - USE IT!

I fussy cut 3 flowers from a 4x6 sheet.  I then framed them around the sentiment from Window Shopping.

I added Stampin' Dimensionals to 2 of the flowers and middle portion of the sentiment.  I really like the pop it gives!

So glad you stopped by today!  What do you think about the embossing paste?  Have you tried it?  I've read that some people are just not seeing the big deal about it, but it really is fun product completely different than embossing powder.  You can add color by using Reinkers and even some shimmer with Stampin' Glitter.  I love the texture it gives to cards!  If you're on the fence about it, I encourage you to give it a try!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Blessings,
Holly
