An Early Ten Minute Tuesday - TGIFC06 Challenge

Tomorrow I am traveling to Boston Center to finish my medical clearances for the FAA.  Since I won't be home for Ten Minute Tuesday, we can call this "Make It Quick Monday!" :)  This was a quick card to make and certainly a different approach to "water coloring".  Now, when I think of water coloring, I immediately think of flowers and coloring with paint brushes or aqua painters. But I wanted to do something different.  I tried this skyscraper scene once last fall and thought I would try it again. Do you recognize the set? It's Calling All Heroes!
This week over at TGIF Challenges, they're looking for our best water coloring cards so this is what I came up with! I'm also entering this in the Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Hop! (click on the image)

This might look more complicated than a 10 minute card, but remember, this isn't Ten Minute Tuesday - it's make it quick Monday!  So, we won't set a timer - but I promise you, once your paper is cut, you'll have 9 minutes to spare! :)

The first thing I did after cutting my paper was stamp the top skyscraper in memento ink.  Now, I personally wish this was a more solid image, but this can happen with porous watercolor paper.  I also know that the image isn't a perfect reflection, but who cares?  Well, maybe me and my OCD - but oh well!  It's not noticable at first, right???

Next, I took my Blackberry Bliss marker and colored the image again.  Then I stamped it in memento ink one more time.  I wanted a little bit of purplish/navy coming through.  Before I stamped the image a second time, I lightly spritzed the stamp with water.  After I stamped the image, I immediately dabbed the excess water/ink with a tissue.

I absolutely love this look!  And the cool thing about water coloring is that it's never the same look!  So I could make this card again and it wouldn't look exactly the same.  Extra character :)

For the sentiment, I used the "You're in my thoughts" stamp from A Dozen Thoughts.  I used my Mint Macaron, Blackberry Bliss and Basic Black markers to give an ombre effect.

A little diamond "stars" and the card was finished!

Thank you for stopping by (again) today!  Come back Thursday for the monthly OSAT Blog Hop and make sure you head on over to TGIF Challenges and see what all the fun is about!
