Today I have for you something a little different to share. No card involved, but there is a little bit of stamping. :) My cousin's wife posted on facebook that she was looking for an idea for a Father's Day gift and her friend suggested something called a Man Crate. Well, let's just save you time from going to the website and just point out that those are pretty pricey! I did like the concept though and decided to team up with my hubby for a project. We ended up making our own - filled with what his dad really likes for a fraction of the cost!
We took some scraps of wood big enough to make a box to hold the goodies we picked out at the store. Here's our middle son helping out. :)
Snacks ready to go!
After the box was ready and packed, it was my turn (and Andrew's turn) to help decorate the box. I would suggest maybe decorating the wood pieces first... it was a little inconvenient to stamp upright.
Andrew did a great job sponging.
I stamped the Happy Father's Day sentiment and the "guy" from Guy Greetings and then added some splatters from Gorgeous Grunge.
I also added "please deliver to" with the new Labeler Alphabet but the ink ended up bleeding more than I would've liked. The Happy Father's Day (on top) and the name were made using the Layered Letters Alphabet.
And you need a tag for a gift, right? This was a quick and simple tag to make. Love this sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set.
I ended up videoing him opening the gift so I had to take a still shot of the video. He had to use a crowbar to open the gift. It was a fun gift to make and I know he really enjoyed it!
I also made my husband a gift, but nothing as involved. Here's a simpler version. I forgot to take a picture of the cards the boys stamped. I'm always impressed by how well they do!
I hope that you all had a great weekend and a great first day of summer here in the US.
Thanks for (always) stopping by! Remember, stamping can be more than just a card! :)
Blessings,
Holly
Such great ideas Holly! The Dads must have been happy with all their loot!
