CYCI81 - A Color Challenge and Guest Appearance!

Hey everyone!  Welcome back to another Can You Case It challenge.  This challenge was from the creative mind of Ms. Billie Moan!  We also have a guest designer this week.  I hope you make Tenia feel welcome and stop by her blog. She makes some great cards!

This week is a great color combo - thanks Billie!
Pick ANY blue, green, purple and add white!

I chose Pool Party, Mint Macaron and Wisteria Wonder.  I love how Mint Macaron can seem blue or green depending on the colors around it.  Makes me love the color that much more!

The flower and leaves are from the set Remarkable You.  This was a set I ordered right away.
(That's saying a lot since I'm not much of a flowers on cards fan!)

Aren't these Greetings Thinlits adorable!?

A little extra detail for the inside and my card is complete.

Hope this inspires you to join the fun and stamp with us this week!

Have a wonderful day!

Freestyle Friday - How Now Brown Cow?

I have a quick post today for a really simple and fun card.  I'm in farm country visiting family and we're surrounded by corn rows and cows.  This card just seemed fitting!  Hope you like it! :)

This card literally took minutes to make!  I used the Go Wild DSP stack for the background, fringe scissors for the grass and the new Lots of Labels Framelits.

And the stamp set? That would be the adorable Barnyard Babies. :)  I am using my mom's stamp set but might have to get my own!  More to come in 2 weeks with this set! I have a surprise for you all!

Have a great weekend!

Cottage Greetings Kit

If you haven't noticed lately, Stampin' Up! Has certainly hit a homerun with their project kits!  They used to carry smaller versions called Simply Sent kits, but if you haven't ordered a newer kit, you're missing out!

This particular kit has been very popular.  The Cottage Greetings kit was released in the new annual catalog.  The kit is $16.00 (USD) before tax and shipping and includes everything you need to make 15 fullsized cards and 15 lined envelopes.  The kit does NOT include the stamp set, adhesive and scissors.  The coordinating stamp set is versatile and might I say, super cute!  Certainly worth it!
This kit took me 63 minutes to put together with the distraction of 3 toddlers.  I bet you will do it in record time :)  Here is what the kit looks like when it is complete:

Pretty awesome right?  And for roughly $1.25 a card, it can't be beat!
I will be hosting a class in Rhode Island but if you would like to be in the running to win the coordinating Cottage Greetings stamp set, purchase the Cottage Greetings Kit between now and September 6th!

Have a wonderful Thursday! See you tomorrow for Freestyle Friday.

Stamp, Ink, Paper #8 - Designer's Choice

Welcome back to another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge.  We are in our 8th week and many readers are learning about us for the first time!  I hope that if you've played before that you play along again.  If you haven't entered a challenge with us yet, this is a great week to play!

Now, I'll be honest with you.  I'm not using my favorite stamp set here.  I'm not at my house so I'm raiding my mom's stamp sets and having fun trying out new sets that I don't own.  So I thought I'd do something different.  I picked a set that I didn't like at all at first called Barnyard Babies.

I think I hated it out of the sheer fact that From the Herd wasn't carried over and here SU! released a new farm set.  But... like always, the set got to me!

I think this set is adorable and I may have to get it afterall.  But for now, I'll just keep using my mom's stamp sets! :) haha!

I needed a baby card for a close friend.  They welcomed little Fiona Avery on Saturday morning.

And the zzzzzz background paper!! Eeeek! So adorable!

I hope to see you join us this week at Stamp, Ink, Paper!

TGIFC14 - July Remix!

Thanks for stopping by for my second post of the day!  Lucky you! :)

I have been staying at my parent's house since Friday and I am certainly enjoying the "new" stamp sets.  My mom and I don't always buy the same stamps so I know that when I come home I bring the ones she didn't order and then I get to enjoy all of the other sets she ordered (free!) haha!

Today's second post is for TGIF Challenges' July Remix.  This challenge is so fun and combines the four weekly challenges from July into one.

Pick two (or more) of the challenges and mix them up.

Today I chose to use the two challenges that I was an Honorable Mention for - hope the luck carries over. :)  I chose the sketch from TGIFC11 and the Brand New theme of TGIFC12.

This was my first time using this new embossing folder and I'm so glad I ordered it - mine comes today!  I also used the Tin of Cards set stamped in Watermelon Wonder.  There are 2 different DSPs - Cherry on Top and Bohemian.  Love them both!

This was also my first time using the new in-color lace.  I love it!  I think I will try to visit my mom more often!  This must be how The Stampin' Stud feels raiding his wife's Artisan Design Team stash!

There you have it!  I hope this inspires you to play along at TGIF Challenges or at least get you in your craft room! :)

Happy stamping!

TGIFC Throwdown #2 - You Did It!

UPDATE! - I made the finals - please vote for me here! Thanks!!

Nothing like waiting until the last minute to enter a challenge, right?  Or in my case, waiting until you have the supplies!  I am visiting my parents and my mom has both stamp sets for this month's TGIFC's Throwdown Challenge so I thought I'd give it a shot!

If you're familiar with Chopped, this is kind of like a card making version. Here is the basket of "mystery ingredients" and you must use at least four:
And here is what I have come up with:

I combined two of the stamps to make the sentiment.  I loved the way it turned it!  A tiny simple star layered in the middle of the "O" gives it that extra detail.

The striped paper is from the Typeset DSP and I simply colored the Very Vanilla portion with my Pool Party marker.

Here is the inside and a close-up of the detail.

I think I may have to get the Bravo stamp set now.  My mom is quite the enabler! :)
Hope you enjoyed this card!  Have a great Monday!

CYCI80 - 4 Square Sketch

Happy Sunday!  Hope you're having a wonderful weekend so far.  I am visiting my family in Pennsylvania and I'm so happy to share my Sunday with them.  It's been about 5 months since I have heard my father preach.  Makes my heart happy :)

But before I head off to church, here is my card for this week's Can You Case It? challenge.

The sketch was made by Elizabeth - one of the very talented ladies on the design team.  When I saw this sketch I was pretty worried because it seems simple. (And I still think my card needed something else, but I like it nonetheless...)

I used DSP from the new Go Wild pack.  I love this paper!

I think everyone should order the alphabet rotary stamp.  Do you have yours yet??
Hope to see you playing along this week at Can You Case It? :)
