Healing Hugs & Getting the Most of Your Stampin' Blends

Hey there! Hope you've had a wonderful week so far.  It's hard to believe how quick this month has gone by.  Last week our kids were at Bible School and yet I did not manage to make one single card!  We've been having fun this summer and it seems like I've not taken the time to stamp.

Today I made 4 cards - 2 which you see here.  I love the color combo at Just Add Ink so I decided to create a card (or two) for JAI and SU Only Challenges.

I'm completely out of Blushing Bride cardstock, so I improvised with Powder Pink.  Close enough, I think.  I decided to use my Stampin' Blends markers to customize my own ribbon.

I love these new disINKtive stamps from Stampin' Up!  - they actually take photos of real flowers and leaves and use them to create the stamps.  It really makes them look more realistic.

I added some diecut leaves in Soft Sea Foam using the Nature's Roots Framelits

The lace trim and the basic pearls are colored using the darker of the two Blends - next time I might use the lighter one.

This second card I liked a little more - the lace and pearls seemed a little more subtle and I liked the simple text from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

Both cards have some stitching around them - don't tell my mom I used my good machine.  My usual "sewing on cardstock" sewing machine was giving me problems.

I challenge you this weekend to use this color combo - it is so soft and pretty!  If you don't have Soft Sea Foam, get it!  It's a beautiful color!

Current hostess code is E6DNDCZJ - If you order $35 or more by the end of the month, I will send you 5 handmade cards!

Praying you have a wonderful weekend,

Holly

A Special 60th Z-Fold Birthday - CASEing Jennifer Frost

You know, I just couldn't stay away from the color combo I used 2 weeks ago for Fancy Friday.  My friend asked me to make a custom card for her mother's 60th birthday so I wanted to do something fun.

I was pressed for time, so I CASEd (copy and selective edit/copy and share everything) my friend Jennifer Frost.  You can see her original creation here.  I changed up the colors and paper, flip flopped the layout, but her idea really is still all there.

I used the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set with 5 fun, cheerful colors.  Four of them are new colors Stampin' Up! has introduced.  I have a feeling Gorgeous Grape will be my new favorite color!

This Z-Fold card was really fun to make.  I found this template on Pinterest for the card base and then just trimmed up some smaller pieces for the layers.

The sentiment is colored with 2 of my Stampin' Write Markers and the striped banners are cut with the Large Numbers Framelits (So sorry they are no longer available!)

The inside was dressed up a little with some of the Soft Sea Foam DSP from the Subtles DSP Stack.

Since this card is a unique size, I gave my friend a gold Striped Treat Bag and dressed the bag up with a cute little tag made with the Lined Alphabet Stamp Set.

I was so pleased with the end result.  I hope you like it too!

Blessings,
Holly

Dream Big and Follow Your Dreams

Another beautiful set from Stampin' Up!

Follow Your Dreams and Brusho is pretty dreamy, don't you think?

The embossing details are so lovely.  These are actually intended to cut, but with the new Big Shot Embossing Mats I can take Framelits that are meant to cut and emboss them instead.

I've added a few extra details with some Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Basic Pearls and Mint Macaron Faceted Dots.

A pretty card for many occasions :) One that comes to mind for me is celebrating a graduation or a new job!  I'm entering this card in The Paper Players - Celebrate themed challenge.  They're celebrating their 400th challenge!  Check them out!

Thanks for joining me this Friday!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Fancy Friday - Color Refresh with Treehouse Adventure

Hey there! Welcome to the Fancy Friday hop for June!  If you came for my sweet friend Cindy, thanks for continuing on to me! We are a group of past and present Artisans for Stampin' Up! and this month we are featuring some great new colors!

If you've had a chance to look at the new Stampin' Up! catalog, you probably noticed that there has been a color revamp!  I, personally, am very pleased with all of the new colors that have been added to the collection.  I am sad about Island Indigo and a few others that are now gone, but I'm much more excited about what is new and returning!

The colors that I chose today are some of my very favorite new ones! I'm in love with this new Gorgeous Grape and I'm certain everyone that has been around SU! for awhile is pleased to see Coastal Cabana back!

I chose to highlight a new set that I ordered right away.  Being a mom of four (3 of them are boys), I wanted this Treehouse Adventure set as soon as I saw it.  I twisted things up a little and made some projects showing you how versatile the set is... it's not just for treehouses! :)

This first card came from an idea I had for a row of grey houses and one with color.  I used a new color called Grey Granite for the other houses.  The are stamped off so the shade is a little darker in full color.

I wanted to add some background stamps so I pulled a few from Artisan Textures and Gallery Grunge.  I wanted to add a little more Gorgeous Grape so I took the "roof" of the treehouse and made some arrows.  Pretty sweet, right?  The "I Miss You" sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings.

And just look at those Soft Sea Foam sequins! Love them!

After staring at the purple arrows for a bit I decided to try something really fun.  I wasn't sure how it would work.  I stamped the roof in Gorgeous Grape a few times down the middle and slowly added some more squares/diamonds in the other colors.  I think I could have added just random diamonds, but decided to completely fill the background instead.  I really like how it turned out!

I cut a few other diamonds with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The "You Can Do Anything" sentiment is unique stamped this way. You can read it stacked, or left to right.  Cool, huh?

Lastly, I decided to make a cute little pillow box for a birthday gift.  I was so excited to see Kraft Pillow Boxes in the catalog.  You get 10 for $5 - a great price in my opinion.  These are great gift boxes for some chocolates, a small gift, a gift card or money.  Plus, they're super easy to decorate!

Well thanks again for joining us!  I'm a little long winded today, so thanks for reading the whole post!  Be sure to make you way around the hop.  There are some really fabulous (and fancy) color combos that I know you'll love!

Next up is the lovely Lauren Alarid (a current Artisan) - she is wonderfully talented and I know she's created something beautiful!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,
Holly
