"In The City" Treat Bags

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  We enjoyed a trip to the Fort Worth Zoo on Saturday - they honored Veterans and their families with free passes!  Yesterday after church we met our former bus driver from MN at a park - she was in town visiting family and it was so nice to see her.  Our kids were excited to see a familiar face.  It was a very nice weekend.

And moving right on into Monday... This is a very busy week for me - 2 stamp classes and 12 year old's birthday party that I've been asked to be the "entertainment" for - we will be making a framed decoration piece and a bookmark.  More on that later...

Today I wanted to show you another cute way to use the In the City Hostess Set from Stampin' Up!  I adore this set and wish somehow it could stay around.
Now this is a two set stamp which makes it quick and easy to "color", but I wanted to use my Stampin' Blends another time.  I love the way they look!

These are my favorite cookies to make (and give away) - they're called Dipped Gingersnaps.

I used the 1 3/4", 2" and Starburst Circle Punches to create the tag.  I added some ribbon and Painted Autumn DSP scraps to finish them off.

Remember, stamps are just for making cards and scrapbook pages.  There's so much more to use them for to share what we love!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Blessings,
Holly

In the City - Hostess Sneak Peak!

Friends, it's been awhile hasn't it?

I haven't posted in almost 2 weeks which is just crazy to me and I miss it!  I held 3 classes this month - probably my last until our move - and haven't sat down to stamp much for fun.

Well, at least I hadn't until this awesome stamp set showed up at my door last week!  I usually don't purchase hostess sets as I don't hold many parties, but I had to get this set for my boys.  They loved the 2-step bug set in the occasions catalog and I knew they'd like this too!

This set is called In the City - a 60 stamp photopolymer set!! Lots of cute buildings, vehicles, nature and sentiments.  No need to color really.  The colored images are stamps!

The only coloring I did here was the cakes in the bakery, the stained glass windows and the blue/white awning.  Even the little doors are stamps!  I did add a road with the swipe of my Smoky Slate Stampin' Write Marker and a few birds with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  I think I'll leave this card for the family that purchased our home.

I fussy cut the cars and added them on with the new Mini Dimensionals.  They are awesome!

As I said, there are some cute sentiments in this set - but I actually changed one up a bit.  We recently had a friend visit us so I took the "thanks for letting us visit!" sentiment and made my own custom sentiment!

I love photopolymer for this reason!  And the new sentiment fit perfectly inside the Classic Label Punch.

I love the little church in this stamp set.  My father has been a minister for the last 25+ years and I wanted to make a special card just for him.  I paired this with the sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set and stamped it on the large circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies.

I added some of the building images as a background which I think really helped with the otherwise boring Smoky Slate card base.  I added a panel of Wild Wasabi cardstock embossed with the Seaside Textured Embossing Folder.  A few Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shapes, new 3/8" Bermuda Bay Mini Chevron Ribbon, Crushed Curry Cardstock and Dimensionals and the card is complete!

Pretty cute huh?

If you'd like to earn your own In the City stamp set - you need a $150 minimum order OR host a party and earn it free with qualifying party orders!

I hope you like these cards!  I have a feeling I'll be sharing more soon!

Blessings,
Holly

Creation Station Blog Hop - Sneak Peek of Pun Intended!

Hey everyone! Welcome to our monthly blog hop with the Creation Station!  We are a group of ladies from all over and we love sharing what we do!  I had this post ready to go last week and then completely forgot that I had this post due!  I had to save it because we are on our way back right now from a week in Texas!  We had a great time with family.  We snuck in a Pirates/Rangers game, hockey tournament, cookouts, pool time and good southern BBQ!

While we were there too I was able to place my first order with the new catalog! I can't wait to share with you what I ordered!  In the meantime, I made a card with one of the new hostess sets called Pun Intended.

I've got to be honest - the new Peekaboo Peach color is challenging me!  I'm not sure what colors to mix it with but I do have one card that I found to look pretty cute!  I paired the new in-color with Mint Macaron.

I colored the background in Peekaboo Peach using my Aqua Painter and then I lightly colored the bulb.  I added some dimensionals just to give the card a little extra detail.

Pretty cute set, huh?  The card on the left I made and post 2 weeks back.

I hope you make your way around the hop!  If you want, you can head backwards to Sara or you can hit the next and move on to Elizabeth! :)

Enjoy your week!

'Affectionately Yours' Highlight #1 - Hostess Set Lots of Love

This week I will be sharing 12 cards with you that I made with the new Affectionately Yours DSP that will be available June 1st!  It is beautiful!  I tend to hoard designer series paper (DSP) but I have already made 12 cards with all 12 sheets!  I used 4x4" pieces because I wanted to share with you how you can cut your sheets into 4x4 pieces and get 9 cards from each sheet! 108 pieces for $13?? yes, please!

Now you may notice there are only 11 cards in the picture above.  There is one more card but I can't share it until tomorrow because it's my sister's birthday card - and well, surprises are more fun, right?

So I'll share four today, four Wednesday and four more Thursday! :)

These four were all made with one of the new hostess sets called Lots of Love.  It's super cute and my little ones love it too!

For this one, I cut my 4x4" piece into 4 1" strips.  The extra went on the inside.  The other Cucumber Crush strips are 1/2" pieces.

This little elephant is adorable and I'm already brainstorming how to use it for a baby card!  My friend Robin already used it for a cute birthday card.  You can see it here.
I'm also not sure if this piece of DSP is a lighter shade of Watermelon Wonder, or if there's a misprint in the catalog and that Flirty Flamingo is part of the pack too?  Either way, I think it matches good enough!

Again, you don't have to use your entire 4x4 piece up.  Here I simply cut it at an angle.  Aren't those hedgehogs cute?!

And last but certainly not least are the cute ladybugs.  The DSP here is cut to 1x3" pieces.

Hope you like what you see so far!  I will be offering a share with this DSP as well so make sure you check back after June 1st to reserve a spot!

Sorry, I'm Not Too Bright - FMS237

Wow! I can hardly believe I'm writing my 250th post already!  I love creating cards and sharing them with you!  I can't wait until I have 250 followers too. (hint, hint) :)

Today I wanted to share with you another sneak peek of a brand new hostess set coming out June 1st called "Pun Intended".  I love the antique tungsten light in the set.  We are 90% done with our bathroom and I purchased a really cute vintage light fixture that has a tungsten light too.  This was right up my alley!

I had an idea with the "Sorry, I'm not too bright" sentiment and I'm pleased with how it turned out.  The sketch came from Freshly Made Sketches - simple enough. :)

I liked the symmetry of the black DSP on each side so I added a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine for the small grey strip.

I chose to use ink colors from the Brights collection to offset the "not so bright" Smoky Slate bulb.

I used the corner rounder to make the tag a little different and added some embossed strips of Smoky Slate to make the sentiment and light bulb stand out a little more.

This is a really cute set and one that you can get with a qualifying hostess order/party starting June 1st.  If you order $350 worth in June, you earn an extra $35 free!!

Ask me how to earn a free catalog today!

Blessings,

Love You Sew!

I have been visiting my parents this week in PA.  My mom is my upline and has a bigger stamp collection than I do... So lucky for me, I get to ink some up that I don't own!

Sometimes this is good, sometimes it's bad!  She can be quite the enabler.

This set is the hostess set from the Occasions Catalog called Love You Sew.  Pretty cute, huh?

I love the look of real stitches on cards too!  It's one of my favorite things to do on a card.

And of course I had to add some extra on the inside.  Now I have to pick which friend gets the card! I have many that love sewing, including my mom!

Thanks for stopping by!
