Stitched With Cheer Alternative for TGIFC84

Well hello there December!  Where did you come from?

Anyone else feel that way?

Our older two boys have been asking almost everyday for a week now when it will be December 1st.. You think that I would've seen it coming!

Let the countdown begin to Christmas Day!  We have a very fitting color combo for you at TGIF Challenges this week, but don't let it keep you from thinking outside the box!

I wanted to highlight this fun stitched star from the Stitched with Cheer Kit.  This kit is now on sale for $14(USD) and you get supplies to make 18 cards with envelopes!  What a steal!  These cards a detailed and are so fun to make - definitely worth spending $14 on.  You just need the matching stamp set! :)

Here is the original use of the star on one of the pre-printed card bases:

I decided to take the star and add it to a completely different card.

I made the watercolor background on Shimmery White CS. I first wet the cardstock (you can use a Spritzer or use an Aqua Painter) and then immediately stamped the "smear" image from Perpetual Birthday in Old Olive ink.  I used my Heat Tool to die the cardstock and then added some splatter using my Aqua Painter and the splatter stamp from Timeless Textures in Early Espresso ink.

I added the sentiment and holly leaves from the Stitched with Cheer stamp set.  I also added a few Old Olive Enamel Dots from the Halloween Haunts Enamel Dots pack.  (On sale for $2.20!)

The envelopes that come in the Stitched with Cheer Kit have coordinating envelope liners to match each card.  I absolutely love that extra detail!

I hope that you join us this week at TGIF Challenges!  I know that life is busy around the holidays, but take a moment to stamp - you'll be happy you did!

Be sure to check out the rest of the team's designs on the main challenge page.

You can also check out the amazing end of year clearance sale going on now!

Blessings!
-Holly

Basket of Wishes - Day 3 of 4

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope this week is going well for you!  I'm down to my last day for my craft show prep - so I'll be a busy bee today!  I have been sharing this week cards that I made on Saturday to celebrate World Card Making Day.  I used the Basket of Wishes set from the holiday catalog and made 8 cards.  If you missed the first 4 cards, please make sure to see the two previous posts from this week.

I love this set for many reasons, but my favorite stamp in the set is the bunch of succulents!  I think Sweet Sugarplum is a perfect color for some succulents.

I added a little hint of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock using the Layering Circles Framelits.  I love just that little bit peeking through.

I also splattered some Tip Top Taupe ink using an Aqua Painter.

Now you may notice, the birthday sentiment was cut up for these two cards.  The card above I used the bottom part of the sentiment for and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.  The top part I used for the next card.

For a fun background, I stamped just the top part of the sentiment in Memento Ink.  Because this set is a photopolymer set, you can see where the ink is transferred.  I embossed a layer of Whisper White cardstock with the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and cut it at an angle.  Lastly, I added a few 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes to finish off the card! :)

I hope you have been enjoying these cards highlighting the Basket of Wishes stamp set!  Tomorrow I have the last two to share using the berry basket.  This might also be my next Stamps in the Mail kit - so stay tuned!

Be sure to check out below the current deals with Stampin' Up!  Some end today - so don't miss it!

Blessings,
Holly

Basket of Wishes - Day 2 of 4

Hello everyone!  I'm excited to share my second day of Basket of Wishes with you!  These are probably my 2 favorites out of the 8 that I made on Saturday.  Saturday was World Card Making Day and I was able to sit down and make a bunch of cards.  If you missed the first 2 cards that I made with this set, you can see them here.  I will be sharing 4 more cards with this set tomorrow and Thursday.

The Basket of Wishes stamp set comes with a few baskets, fillers and sentiments to mix and match to your liking.  I love to color these images too!
When I saw the new challenge over at Fab Friday Challenges, I knew I wanted to play along and use this set for the card.  I love a simple sketch! I thought the basket would work great with the focal point front and center framed in the circle. I'm also adding this card to the Thanksgiving theme at SU Only Challenges.

Here are the two cards I made with the basket of pumpkins and gourds:

I haven't used my Woodlands Embossing Folder for quite sometime.  I think when it "retired" I tried not to use it.  Thankfully, Stampin' Up! heard the cries of us stampers and decided to bring it back!

Here I showed the reversed embossed part - I like the trees that way. :)

My absolute favorite part of this card is the Linen Thread.  I took my 1/16" Punch and made two holes on the sides of the basket to loop the thread through.  It turned out super cute and it was easier than gluing tiny pieces on the basket (honestly, my first thought)...

Simple enough...

For my next card, I didn't want to change it up too much.  I kept the same Woodland and Delightful Dijon DSP - same coloring for the basket...

For the sentiment, I stamped the "blessing of you" on white cardstock and used Stampin' Dimesionals to really make it stand out.  I tucked a little bit of the Delightful Dijon 5/8" Mini Striped Ribbon behind each side of the sentiment.  You don't need to put ribbon across the whole back, just 1" pieces folded on each side.

So there you have it - day TWO of my Basket of Wishes highlight!  I hope you enjoyed these two cards.  Please pin them if you like them. :)

And remember... only two days left for the awesome World Card Making Day sale!  And for the entire month of October, stock up on DSP with the B3G1 deal!
Details are below!

Blessings,
Holly

Twinkle Trees for GDP053

It seems like I haven't joined in for the challenges over at Global Design Project in awhile, so I thought I would play along in hopes to be a guest designer next month!  There is an insane amount of talent out there and I swear, every time I'm ready to sit down and make something, I see some of my friend's work and think - nah, they got this! There's no point trying :) haha!

But... I do want to play along this week because the color challenge is a tricky one, and I like a good challenge to get my mind going.  I've been trying to come up with some samples with the new Twinkle Trees set and thought this combo would work!

I love this striped washi tape from the Affectionately Yours collection.  A classy look I think. :)  I added Watermelon Wonder with the "bokeh" stamps on the Night of Navy tree.

I added gold embossing powder on top of the tree too.  I should've waited for my navy to dry though.
(I was working way late - almost midnight... Just a tip for those in a hurry like me - dry your ink!)

I added a cute little star and bow to "top" it off!

The Metallic Enamel Dots were on the special deals last week and I couldn't pass them up.  Tomorrow there will be new deals online along with the HUGE clearance rack that was just updated Tuesday.  Some things are already gone so make sure you get what you want!

If you're ordering less than $150, would you please use hostess code SM4QQ3KS and I will send you a special thank you gift!

Have a great day!
Blessings,
Holly

Creation Station - Holiday Catty Faves - Wonder of Christmas

I hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day weekend!  If we weren't still swimming at our neighbor's heated pool, I would say summer seems to be over! Football season is here, leaves are starting to fall here in Minnesota, our oldest starts Kindergarten this week and the Holiday Catalog is here!  YAY!  I love making Christmas cards and can't wait to show you some of the great sets are in the catalog.  Seriously - what a fantastic catalog this year!  (If you need a copy and don't have a SU! demonstrator that you work with, I would be happy to send a catalog your way.)

Anyway, I'm talking too much!  Welcome to our Creation Station blog hop.  We are a group of international SU! demos that blog on the first Sunday of the month.  This month we are highlighting our favorites from the Holiday Catalog.

And since I can't blog every favorite that I have ordered, I'm showing you ONE of the great sets!

I love the religious sets in the catalog - to me they highlight the true meaning of why we celebrate Christmas.  When I first saw the angel set called Wonder of Christmas I knew it was a must have!

I love the catalog examples for this stamp set and decided to do my version of both cards.  I used gold embossing powder to give the angel some pizzazz since I knew I wanted to leave her uncolored.

I took one of the sentiments and stamped the entire background of the card base and also the inside of the card.

My favorite part is the cluster of various ribbons!  It really helps tie in the gold from the angel.

This was a great one to make multiples of too.  I'm selling packs of 5 at an upcoming vendor show so I did 10 in this color combo and 10 in a Tip Top Taupe/Wisteria Wonder/Gold combo.  I'm so happy with how they turned out and hope the shoppers like them too!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Be sure to check out everyone's projects and pin your favorites!  You can head back to the lovely Jennifer Downey or on to my talented friend Elizabeth Price! :)

Blessings,
Holly

Star of Light - TGIFC68

Happy Friday! This week as flown by and I can hardly believe the weekend is here.  I have been helping my neighbor's daughter with her wedding planning.  We finished 158 wedding favors yesterday (you can see them here) - needless to say, I've been swamped this week!

But I did have a few minutes to make 2 cards for this week's challenge over TGIF Challenges!

This is a fairly simple sketch.  Will you join us?
I am highlighting a new bundle from the upcoming SU! Holiday Catalog.  The star thinlits are so intricate and beautiful and the sentiments from the set are just lovely.  I can't wait to make some more cards with this set.

When I saw this week's sketch I knew I wanted to use this cluster of small stars across the card front.  Looks like the Milky Way to me.  I embossed both to give the card some detail and dimension.

The first card I made uses 2 of the thinlits - one solid, one intricate.  I wanted to make a 3D star with the vellum star - I've seen them before but never really tried one.

You might think that the foil here is gold, but it's actually copper!  Another great product coming out in the new catalog - matches the Copper Emboss Powder perfectly! :)

Here's a different angle for the vellum star.  I adhered it to the card base by using one dimensional in the middle.  I knew it was getting covered up by the copper star, so I didn't mind that I'd see it at first.

The second card I made is sort of flip-flopped.  I wanted to see if I liked a blue based card better and... I don't, hah! But, I still do like it.  I just think the white one is nicer, that's all. :)

I do love this Copper Foil sheets and I'm so glad I saw it the second time through the catalog!

I hope you like them both!
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you  have time this week to play along with our challenge at TGIF Challenges!  Have a great weekend!

Gift Card Envelopes for the GUYS!

This week is super busy for me as I am still working on 175 wedding favors for Saturday.  I'm basically swamped.  But I did have a moment the other night to play with some new goodies that I received last week and I wanted to share with you what I made.  I don't know why I waited over a year to buy the Gift Card Envelope & Trim Thinlits.  They made these projects so simple and quick!

You might not recognize this Designer Series Paper (DSP) either - this is a new paper stack coming out in the SU! Holiday Catalog called Warmth & Cheer DSP.  It was love at first sight!

I actually bought two packs.  One I plan on using for Christmas gift tags and the rest for masculine cards.  The colors and prints are so great - especially for guy cards!  So here I decided to pair the DSP up with two "guy" stamp sets - The Wilderness Awaits and Feather Together.

I used my blender pen to color the animals...

If you like this DSP you can order Sept 1st as a customer, or join my team today and order before the catalog goes live to the public!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
-Holly
