We Loved Our Adventure - Project Life Highlight for TGIFC60!

Happy Friday!

I'm so excited to share with you some Project Life pages I made this week.  I had recently printed pictures from our KLove Cruise that my husband and I took this January with my in-laws.  I have always had the desire to scrapbook - I have three little boys and a passion for photography - but the laziness kicks in and I never want to upload/print pictures and then make pages.

Then 2 weeks ago, my mother lost everything on her computer.  

She has 13 grandchildren - and her pictures are gone.

So I backed up my photos and ordered our cruise pictures and a few others and I sat down and made 6 scrapbook pages in one day.  Actually in about 2 hours.  Project Life makes this so easy!  And I love the Moments Like These PL kit from Stampin' Up!

So this week - our challenge over at TGIF Challenges is for you to create a card (or project) based on the "adventure" theme - but I challenge you to print some pictures and make a page or two.  

Put those memories into an album so that you can share them!

One thing I love about PL cards is the fact that most cards are already designed so well - you don't need to do anything but slide it into the pocket.  However, you can also add to them if you want!

Here I took the Labeler Alphabet stamp set and added the words "we loved our adventure" and the hearts.

The Moments Like These kit coordinates with the 2015-2017 in-colors.  Here I added the Watermelon Wonder washi tape from the Affectionately Yours washi pack. 

(Tip: I layered two pieces of washi tape so it showed up better on top of the picture.)

I think my favorite size in the PL pages are the 2x2 squares.  They're so cute!

Here I used the Labeler Alphabet again to add the date.

Another page I made is a smaller one.  I used the 12x6" page protector that you can find in the Variety Pack #2.  

This 4x6" PL card came only with the word "moments" on it.  I love the look of the Labeler Alphabet and wanted to incorporate it in this page too.  I also wanted to use Bermuda Bay to match the water as best as I could.  (It really is that blue!)

Another use for the 2x2" square cards can be to just lay them on top of a photograph.

I hope these pages inspire you to print some photos and start documenting your life.  I pray that we never get to the point where our iphones and computers are obsolete - so just in case... get scrappin'!

Mother's Day - You Are Made of Wonderful for GDP035

What a beautiful Mother's Day!  It was warm, sunny and filled with so much joy and love.  And sick kids... 

At 5am this morning our middle son woke up crying.  He had thrown up in his bed.  By 9am he was on his second bath of the morning and our youngest wasn't feeling the greatest either.  Lots of clean up and cuddles before church.  But the kids are feeling much better and I wouldn't trade the yucky parts of the best job in the world for anything!

I hope you had a wonderful Sunday too!  We spent the day with my husbands parents, grandparents and his aunt and uncle and cousin. Good food, cake (more on that later this week), fun at the park and a campfire.  God is good and I'm grateful for His many blessings.

I wanted to share with you the card I made for my sweet Mother-in-law.  I absolutely love this new technique I discovered last week.  You can stretch and smash the Honeycombs and make a very cool embellishment.

The calligraphy "mom" is not Stampin' Up! but I love it too much not to use it! :)

For the cards background and the heart around "mom", I used the Project Life stamp set called Memories in the Making.  I love the little cluster of swirls - it makes such a fun background!  You don't have to use the PLxSU sets just for your scrapbook pages...

I am entering this card in this week's "Project Life" theme challenge over at the Global Design Project.

Hopefully by mid-week I can start a page for the challenge too!  I took lots of cute pictures of the boys yesterday.  Sure is great being their momma! :)

TGIFC48 - Remix with Sprinkles on Top!

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you are excited about this month's remix challenge with TGIF Challenges.  I always thought the idea was so fun and clever - so much to challenge you with :)  Want to play along??

Can you believe March has almost come and gone??  I cannot believe how fast this month has gone by.  And actually, I can't believe how fast this week went!  I realized yesterday afternoon that my card for this month's remix was due last night and I was running out of daylight! I literally took over 90 pictures of this card.  

I know. I'm crazy.

I took pictures outdoors, indoors, under my Ott light... 

I really wanted you to be able to see all the details.  

I used the no-line watercoloring technique on the cones and ice cream and added some Pink Pirouette splatter on the card too.  But my favorite part of the card are the mini ice cream cones and the Dazzling Diamonds circles around the bigger cone.  Both of these stamps come from the Project Life set in the Occasions catalog called Memories in the Making.

Gather Together with Project Life

Last week my father-in-law was cutting up firewood.  I noticed he was cutting a branch that fell recently and I ran out to stop him.  I had an idea and needed his tools :)

 

I'm in love with this Seasonal Snapshot 2015 set from Stampin' Up! Not only does it cover the seasons in an adorable way, this font is so stinkin' awesome! Seriously, if you've read my blog the last few months, you're probably sick of me saying it!

 

This is our first thanksgiving with family in a long time.  We are very grateful to be around our loved ones.  Unfortunately, while I was making these my husband text me and said he is now working Thanksgiving.  I guess we will have to bring him leftovers! (I'll still attach his tag)

  The only stamp not used from Seasonal Snapshot is the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge.  The leaves, sweater stitching, sentiment - all from this awesome set.  Its for more than just your memory keeping!

And since I was already stamping away, I thought I'd make a few things for my Thanksgiving pages. 

 

This is a 6x4 card from the card kit.  I added the Gorgeous Grunge splatter, washi tape and ribbon.

 

This was an extra tag that I cut up to make a label.  Can't wait to take the family picture to go in it!

 

And last but not least, I added this circle embellisment to the existing 3x4 plaid card.  I really wanted to add the same details from the name cards to my PL pages.

 

So there you have it.  You have a week left to make some of your own.

Let's Go Bucs! A Baseball Page with Project Life

It's been awhile since I've made a scrapbook page.  I guess I've been enjoying taking lots of pictures and making memories this summer that I haven't stopped to put them on a page!  I know I will be busy this winter! :) 

 

But since it's still baseball season (for some fans at least) I wanted to make my first page from our trip home to PA in August.  If you're not a big baseball fan, I'll fill you in on this awesome Pirates team.  This is our 3rd straight year to make playoffs after a 20 year streak.  It's been so fun to watch them.  We even drove 522 miles last year to go to the wildcard game!

 

I'm hoping Wednesday night's wildcard game has a better outcome!

 

 

When I was using my Bohemian Borders stamp set the other day I happen to use these stiches on a card and immediately saw baseball stitches.  I tested it out (which the boys thought was awesome) and that night I ordered my photos so I could make this page right away! 

For the "Let's Go Bucs" background, I used the Layered Letters Photopolymer set.  Even though they're photopolymer and they're easy to line up, here's a tip: if you mount one word at a time they keep a consistent look.

 

 

The "Gather Together" sentiment is from Seasonal Snapshot 2015.  You can find it in the holiday catalog.  Isn't that font the coolest?!

 

 

And who doesn't love pretzels, family, baseball?! (My boys are easy to love too, FYI) :)

 

I had so much fun making this page.  Our 4yo even asked if we could send it to Starling Marte (our left fielder) - he said he'd would love it!
