Gold Dipped Awesomeness! TGIFC34

It's certainly crunch time with Christmas just days away!  I have been done with shopping for a week or so now but wanted to make something for my husbands aunts, uncles and siblings.  I honestly wanted to make tins of cookies, but I'm so "cookied out" that I figured I'd pass.

Plus, our cruise is 5 weeks away - I can't afford it! haha!

So I decided to make boxes of homemade chocolates.  Waaaaay healthier, right?

I had a fun time decorating the boxes too.  Strips of red and gold give it the holiday glitz paired with the never boring Gorgeous Grunge splatter!  :)  The snowflakes were a hit this year for me and I was surprised to find 5 left!

My favorite part of the box though it definitely this "gold dipped" sentiment.  Looks like I have a new technique to play around with!  Reminds me of my Dipped Gingersnap Cookies.  Oh man... maybe I will make them after all!  Best cookies ever!

I'm also playing along with TGIF Challenges - it's been quite some time.  Happy to play along this week.  Head on over and see the talented stampers "Holly Jolly" ideas.

Have a blessed week and if I don't post before Friday - MERRY CHRISTMAS!! JESUS IS BORN!

Creation Station Blog Hop - Winter Wonderland Christmas

I'm am so excited to share with you some exciting news for my 200th post!!  If you came from Denita's site, thanks for stopping by my blog.   I did not see myself with three small boys actually keeping up with a blog and making it to 200 posts but here I am and now I am on a new design team!

Let's just say, I am so honored to be among the talented ladies on this team (two who are SU artisans might I add). :)  I took a break from 3 other blog hops earlier this fall because we recently moved from Rhode Island to Minnesota.  We still aren't settled into our house (living with in-laws) but I've found time to stamp again and was recently asked to join this awesome Creation Station design team.  I thought I'd take the offer - haha!  Thank you Jen and Dena for having faith in me!  I'm so excited to join you all!  And thank you to my followers/subscribers and fans for encouraging me to get to 200!

This month's theme is obviously Christmas!  I did not have either of the Christmas sets that you may see others using on this hop, but I did have the Winter Wonderland vellum so I wanted to focus on that.  Here is what I came up with:

The pack comes in two colors: black on vellum and gold on vellum.  The gold is certainly easier to use on cards in my opinion, so I wanted to go out of my comfort zone (and color pallet) and use the black/vellum sheets.  This color combo certainly isn't Christmas-y, but the cookies are the distraction!

A little ink sponged on the wooden snowflake is a quick way to add color.

For the card, I wanted to add the same vellum that I used for the treat bag and overlay the Wonderland pine tree image.  Love the way that turned out!

Here's a close up of the inside detail.

The sentiment is a mix of the PL Seasonal Snapshot 2015 set and the White Christmas set.

I NEED to know what that calligraphy font is... or SU needs an alphabet set with it.  #justsayin'

So there you have it!  I sure hope you enjoyed these projects and were inspired.  I'm excited to be on this new team and can't wait to show you some new catalog goodies next month!  Make sure you make your way around the hop to check out all the talent.  You can head back to Denita or onto Jennifer.  Just click the buttons below.

Happy Sunday to you!

Merry Christmas for PP273

Hey everyone!  I hope that you miss me blogging as much as I miss stamping and sharing with you!  With our recent move, I've been missing my stampin' mojo ... could be that my stamp room is out of boxes right now in a tiny room of my in-law's basement.  I am glad I have one, don't take this as being ungrateful! I'm just anxious to get into our new house and get my craft room back! :)

This week I decided to get a little help from a card challenge to spark my creativity.  I think I have played along with the Paper Players one other time, but I love the challenge of a tic-tac-toe!

I chose to go straight across the bottom using ribbon, a tree and a punch.
Here's what I came up with:

I love the thick baker's twine and love it even more pulled apart.  It gives it a wavy look which I think is too fun.  The punch and tree could count from the Tree punch, but the "star of the card" here is the cut out tree in my opinion.  Might help the fact that it's lifted off the card a little with dimensionals.

I added some red glitter stars on the front and decided to carry one on over to the inside.

This set is a must have!  I have used it in so many projects this holiday season.  Feel free to look them up on my blog under "seasonal snapshot 2015".

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to head on over to The Paper Players Blog to check out the rest of the inspiration.

Blessings,
Holly

Gather Together with Project Life

Last week my father-in-law was cutting up firewood.  I noticed he was cutting a branch that fell recently and I ran out to stop him.  I had an idea and needed his tools :)

I'm in love with this Seasonal Snapshot 2015 set from Stampin' Up! Not only does it cover the seasons in an adorable way, this font is so stinkin' awesome! Seriously, if you've read my blog the last few months, you're probably sick of me saying it!

This is our first thanksgiving with family in a long time.  We are very grateful to be around our loved ones.  Unfortunately, while I was making these my husband text me and said he is now working Thanksgiving.  I guess we will have to bring him leftovers! (I'll still attach his tag)

The only stamp not used from Seasonal Snapshot is the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge.  The leaves, sweater stitching, sentiment - all from this awesome set.  Its for more than just your memory keeping!

And since I was already stamping away, I thought I'd make a few things for my Thanksgiving pages.

This is a 6x4 card from the card kit.  I added the Gorgeous Grunge splatter, washi tape and ribbon.

This was an extra tag that I cut up to make a label.  Can't wait to take the family picture to go in it!

And last but not least, I added this circle embellisment to the existing 3x4 plaid card.  I really wanted to add the same details from the name cards to my PL pages.

So there you have it.  You have a week left to make some of your own.

Just don't go kill a live tree. Find a dead branch :) and while you're at it, make sure you head on over to suochallenges.com to see some more fall inspiration! I'm entering my placecards in this week's challenge.

Blessings,
Holly

Christmas Cards & Tags Basket

This past Friday, I scrambled to get a basket of cards together.  I had told my mother-in-law earlier in the week that I would donate some cards for the church's Oktober Missions Fest.  However, Thursday night came around and I went to bed early with a terrible headache.  I only had a few hours Friday morning to make this happen!

But it happened! Unfortunately, I only finished with 2 minutes to spare.  My husband had the kids in the car already so I had to be super quick with pictures!  I hope you can still see all the details.

Peaceful Wreath & Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015 (sentiment)

Wonderland (trees), White Christmas (card sentiment) & Flurry of Wishes (tag sentiment)

All Ye Faithful & Kinda Eclectic (starburst) - Festival of Trees (tag sentiment)
This was my favorite card that I made.  Might end up being my Christmas card too!

Flurry of Wishes - This was my favorite tag from the basket.

This was a lot of work but I was happy to help!  My basket of cards went for $40 - all for a good cause!  I hope these inspire you.  Time to start making your Christmas cards :)

Have a great Monday!

Let's Go Bucs! A Baseball Page with Project Life

It's been awhile since I've made a scrapbook page.  I guess I've been enjoying taking lots of pictures and making memories this summer that I haven't stopped to put them on a page!  I know I will be busy this winter! :)

But since it's still baseball season (for some fans at least) I wanted to make my first page from our trip home to PA in August.  If you're not a big baseball fan, I'll fill you in on this awesome Pirates team.  This is our 3rd straight year to make playoffs after a 20 year streak.  It's been so fun to watch them.  We even drove 522 miles last year to go to the wildcard game!

I'm hoping Wednesday night's wildcard game has a better outcome!

When I was using my Bohemian Borders stamp set the other day I happen to use these stiches on a card and immediately saw baseball stitches.  I tested it out (which the boys thought was awesome) and that night I ordered my photos so I could make this page right away!
For the "Let's Go Bucs" background, I used the Layered Letters Photopolymer set.  Even though they're photopolymer and they're easy to line up, here's a tip: if you mount one word at a time they keep a consistent look.

The "Gather Together" sentiment is from Seasonal Snapshot 2015.  You can find it in the holiday catalog.  Isn't that font the coolest?!

And who doesn't love pretzels, family, baseball?! (My boys are easy to love too, FYI) :)

I had so much fun making this page.  Our 4yo even asked if we could send it to Starling Marte (our left fielder) - he said he'd would love it!

:)  Sorry Eli, we're going to keep this page!

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by.  Sorry that my scrolling list is not working.  The website that I use to list the items used for my projects is not working from my computer and since our cat spilled water on my husbands MacBook, I'm going to just list the products below. If you have questions, please don't hesistate to ask! :)

Seasonal Snapshot 2015 - Not Just for Project Life!

Well summer is officially over here in the states. I thoroughly enjoyed our summer here by the beach, but I admit - if I could live somewhere where it was fall all year round, I'd move in a heartbeat!  I love the cooler temps, crunchy leaves, apples, football and my Autumn Leaves Yankee candle. (I burn that sucker all year!)

It's also another fantastic time of year to be a stamper! This year's holiday catalog is fantastic!  This particular set is made for Project Life, but I wanted to show you that these PLxSU sets aren't just for filling those album pages!  I love this font and all of the little details in the set.

This would be the perfect card to give to a child or grandchild with some candy attached. :)

I stamped the bat in black on black and added some dimension to make them stand out.

This fall one is my favorite of the three.  The sweater-like stitching is so cool!

Makes me think of my mom and her cross-stitching days. :)

And last but not least, a Christmas card.  This one was fun to make.  Do you notice the background?

Yep - that would be two embossing folders. :) The trick here is to run the trees, and then sandwich the falling gently folder (hard) with your hands.  If you run both folders through the Big Shot, your embossed image will keep alternating. (I learned my lesson and will save you the time and patience!)

Thanks for swinging by today.  I hope you enjoyed the twist on the Project Life set!

Happy stamping :)

Let's Get Poppin'! Cake Batter Popcorn Treats

Tuesday was the release of the new holiday catalog and the timing was perfect :)  My Stamp & Snack class is on the first Tuesday of the month so we were ready to go!  I wanted to make something special for my group of stampers that showed of new products and here is what I came up with:

When I saw the new Seasonal Snapshot Project Life set from Stampin' Up!, I knew I wanted to have this set right away! It covers all of the holidays and I love the font for the words. The "wicked" was perfect for my New England stamp ladies too! The other words on the tag are from "Endless Birthday Wishes" which is a birthday set in the annual catalog.  I also used a new punch from the catalog called the Curvy Corner Trio Punch - it's awesome!

Needless to say - the ladies loved the popcorn.  I told them I would post the recipe for everyone to enjoy themselves!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures.  Please take time to check out the new catalog.  I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't have one!  Shop with me by clicking on the button in the margin! :)

Happy weekend to you!
